Good (Easter Monday) arvo. Overnight Low of 15.5C and it's presently 21.2C, fairly clear with a breeze. There was 1.7mm in the gauge this morning.

The arborist and his crew arrived at 0900 and they've pretty much worked straight through 'til 1300. I've been busy chain-sawing the larger dead limbs up into fireplace size pieces.

Which is what I'll get back at now that I've had a bite of lunch.

That's about it, take care all.

Coffee is done brewing. 44° with light rain this morning. Heading to 68° with am rain and clouds with wind in pm. About all I got done was about 4 hours on the phone with family and friends. Need to cup grass in backyard after it dries. It grown so much in last few days it is longer than Sassy's legs. Weeds need pulling in flower gardens. Also some leaves need raking from front gardens.

Everyone stay safe and well.

Good Morning All.

Morning all!
Currently 30 going to a cloudy 62.
Was able to finish the railing work on the porch. Need to figure out how to get the stains from sitting on the ground for a year off.
Truck looks new again. Need to remove the interior mats and give them a bath now.
Easter dinner with her family went good! No arguments this time!
Everything tasted great!
Extremely windy out so I spent the morning in the shop.
Got the cherry burl bowl turned as far as I dared. Stuff was coming off everywhere so I called it good. Finished at 14 X 4 inches.

Another project I finished was this one for a challenge on a wood turning site. The challenge was to turn an egg. No other rules. This is what I came up with:
IMG_1123.jpg

I don't think anyone else will think off this. Walnut shell. Mallee for the egg and osage orange for the yolk. Lol!
That's it for today.
Something new is afoot I hope! Will be posting pics soon.
Hope everyone stays safe and healthy!

good morning all
slow start this morning, not much planned
weather should be warm and cloudy, with rain tonight.
am headed to garden nursery to see if their veggies came in yet; actually would be smart to
just call them. They may be waiting til May 1. But forecast is good for planting now.

pollen really starting to come down now, car is covered every day.
maybe I should try to see if expedition will fit in garage, I doubt it

have to call Ford dealer and take car back in...now loud whooshing noises at times, sounds
like hvac system nuts, opening and shutting internal doors, quite noisy, I rolled down window and it was a loud
noise outside. This really has been an unreliable vehicle. It looks good and drives nicely but that's not enough.

Buppies, still praying for you and Holly, hoping you find the internal peace to deal with this. If you get the dog, pics please.

57 outside right now, heading to mid 70's today.

Have about 130 rounds in the front that need splitting, all lined up ready to go. Some are 5 feet or larger in circumference. They may end up in a burn pile. Too big to deal with.

HVAC system in farm house is not cooling, sigh, call to repair is in order. Will see if a reset does something.

Hope all have a good start to the week. Be safe.

Good morning TBN!!
57 this morning with a partly cloudy high of mid 80s today.

Quiet Easter with the wife. Yesterday.
We went riding on the 4 wheelers and had a nice pork roast for dinner.
Otherwise quiet and uneventful.
I did get the lawn mower out ang gave it a bath. Maybe get around to servicing today.
Going back at the tank today to shovel out leftover water and oil that is in it. I'll decide after if I am done.
Blew the pollen out of the garage. Daily occurrence :(
Have to see what the day holds for me.

Time for a second cup
Everyone have a great and safe day!!

Good Morning
50° and mostly cloudy. No rain, continued clouds and a high of 60 in the forecast.

Yesterday kept me busy all day, starting with the Easter egg hunt and breakfast at oldest son’s along with other son and daughter and spouses.
After that I got out the lazer and mowed around the buildings and lane, as well as some exploration around the typical wet spots, which was encouraging.
Put the grapple on the tractor and cleaned up most of the mess from cutting up downed trees.
Grandson and I hooked up the Progressive mower and inflated all the tires to spec and greased it. Then we mowed all the open areas, blew it off when we were done and parked it.

Cut up the logs from the tree cleanup along with the boys and stacked them up to dry.

Finished the day’s chores by mowing the RC runway with the Lazer set to 2-1/2”.
The very last thing to get attention before calling it a day was to change the batteries in the meter on the diesel pump hose.

Today Im off to Marthas Vineyard again, then to Akron until after dinner. Tomorrow looks like the last day I’ll have to work for a a few weeks. (And it’s less work than what i do around here….).

Good Morning,
Ct, 40 to start going to 56 either clouds coming in later today.

Paul, have a safe trip to Akron.

Buppies, sorry to hear Holly not doing well. Hopefully better days ahead 🙏

Frits, hope D’s pain more manageable.

Going for a long walk and then figure out what I will do. Plenty of jobs, just not sure where to start. Probably heading to Vt on Thursday morning to get tractor and mower ready for the season.

Hope all have a good start to their week 🙏

130 rounds will make a very nice stack of finished firewood
just click your fingers and say abracadabra

I do think it's interesting that Messicks has sold more than a hundred commercial wood processors since they took up
this line of equipment, wood splitters on steroids, automated in some cases. People willing to spend 10-20k on a wood splitter.
assumption is they do some volume to warrant it
but I wonder if there are a few sold to hobby farms who just want a really powerful tool.

ahhhh, going to get my planting fix attended to, tomatoes are in at local place I like.
that will get me moving
enjoy your day

Almost 9AM.
Late getting up.
Missed recycle truck. I heard him at 7:30 as I rolled over. Oh well.
Brekky undecided.
Maybe just oatmeal and a couple boiled eggs.
Somehow today is starting like one of those get nothing done days.
Care for your fellow man even if you're straight.

Bought one of the commercial splitters from Messick. They make splitting easy. Here is a video of how it works

Morning all, 52 going to 67 and cloudy.

Wow BEF, a little too exciting lately ...Hope all this calms down, will they gate that "new" road?

Cleaned out some more of last years pots and plants and moved some stuff around.
Then BIL and wife came over with dog, so our dog was happy. They left pretty late after showing us some of their river cruise in europe, good they are getting to travel.
Easter dinner then Ben hur and the robe.

Be well,

Good Morning! Starting off with 49˚F with a N wind turning E and quick warm-up to upper 80s with cloudless skies.
Pushed the mower to the back yard but the grass still is wet from morning dew will wait an hour. Pet snake is named Lilly because she made her appearance on Easter has not come out of her hole that I have seen.
The pool robots are getting a break this week, the live oak pollen tassels are falling less and less and the leaves have stopped falling and new green leaves are on the large Oak by the pool.

Good Morning to All Who Celebrate! 58° going to a high of 69° and cloudy. Rain forecast for the evening. We need it, we're way behind for the spring.

Mowing cycle has begun again with me mowing out front. This time I had two supervisors (The neighbor boys) watching from behind their chain-link fence. They waved and the oldest gave me a thumbs up. :)

Dad and I also started the mulching process. Goes faster with the FEL these days, certainly is easier on both of us. Holding off on a few areas to let my mother weed ahead of us. Still need to grind the stump before we put mulch down in that bed too.

Good Easter Saturday with the family. Took the brother in law to a driving range to get him out of the house and relax for a little bit. Then dinner with Grandma and the whole fam. Sunday was quiet and restful after my sister, BIL and nephew took off.

Plans for this week: Survive work week, plan tee time for company outing, continue mowing rotation, get to taking down the tree, potentially stump grinding if Dad is motivated enough to get the grinder.

Stay safe out there Y'all! Enjoy the week!
Prayers for those Ailing and Recovering!

Good Morning Frits,
Great video on the log splitters. I i put a lot of firewood up I would consider one of those, but for the amount of time I am in Vermont and using the stove my old splitter is fine. But those units are really nicely made and a lot of quality incorporated in the build. Thanks (y)
