Good morning!!!!

Good Morning,
Ct, 31 to start going to 46. Sun was out but it looks like clouds moving in.

My friend that also owns a house in Vermont was kind enough to bring a bed extender over yesterday after noon. This thing slides into the tow hitch and then tees off to support longer boards. The Trex boards are 12ft so they stick out the back past the tail gate over 3 ft.

Ok my other big question is that I see online that all SS recipients need to show up at their SS office to prove they are still alive. Is this more fake news? Because I haven’t heard anything about this until this morning 🥲

Hope all have a good day 🙏
Proving identity is only required when applying for cash benefits or to change direct deposit information. In-person verification of identity will only be required at a local Social Security office if unable to use Social Security’s online service with a personal my Social Security account. People receiving benefits also may change their banking information using automatic enrollment services with their bank without visiting a Social Security office. People receiving payment by paper checks must prove their identity before changing their mailing address.

Individuals will need to provide in-person identification for certain internet, phone, and paper claims, including claims filed by third parties.

People will continue to receive their benefits and on schedule to the bank account information or address (if receiving a paper check) in Social Security’s records without needing to prove identity.

Morning all, 40 going to 51 and cloudy.

Got the signatures and paid for dads cremation costs (his wish to be cremated). Today work with accountant to hopefully finalize fed tax paperwork. Need to also finish mine. I think the social workers and police helped me with convincing her. Brother is very frustrated getting them involved again. It's been a tough few weeks.

BEF - When HD says they have it in stock and it's not on the appropriate shelves, I order it for store pickup. They always seem to find it, probably in the back storage area since no one bothered to put it out. That's how I got my trim pieces for the garage. I went to where it was listed on the shelf and nothing, confirmed by floor staff, but found when I did a pick up in store order. Not a very good system of restocking in many of their stores it seems for less purchased items.

My big curved monitor went pop, I have it apart and fuse is open, big cap is shorted. Parts ordered for a few bucks to see if I can fix it. Did find a board for $40 if the parts replacement does not work. These screens cost $400 or so for a new replacement, so worth it to try a fix.

Started ordering chemicals to open pool in May while they are on sale.

Popgadget - cup holder looks great, amazing what you can do with that printer and some design skills.

I also use HOT in my oil burner/boiler. It no longer recirculates like with old boiler, so the Power Service I only use for the tractor diesel.

Still trying to figure out what to plant in back woods. Don't really want grass, but don't want anything that will get too tall either, or get wiped out by critters.

Be well,
Working on the board to the right, power supply for the monitor.

Still a work in progress, but a little cleaner, need to get mulch and clean up some more. Then decide what to plant in the open spaces. Drought last year and deer are a constant challenge.

Good Morning Ken,

Looks like that’s what I will have to do when I order the rest of the material for the deck under the porch. I went to HD yesterday and the Trex that I bought was gone from the shelves already. 😒

I hope the weeks get better for you Ken, I’m sure it’s been difficult trying to get everything done lately.

Good Morning Again,
NHBX, thanks I see that you only need to appear in person if you’re trying to change your DD bank info.
But thanks for the link 😃.

Bill, that sounds like it will work to me, especially if you have a way to recirculate as you just said. We use a product called Hot, it comes in a pint bottle and we use it during the winter months on all outside tanks. Especially those that are on the north side of the customers home. Usually one bottle every delivery during winter on a 275 gallon tank. If it’s a larger tank then 2 bottles.
So I think your plan is a good one. 😃
Thanks. I am going to run it past my cleanout guy, too. He has serviced this Beckett burner ever since new 30 years ago. I am more worried about the furnace than the tractor. I have been dosing the tractor every other fuel up (3-4 gallons) and using one ounce per dose for the past 12 years. Winter time only.
The new supplier doesn't add anything to the fuel, which is fine by me.

interesting morning, picked up five bags of gravel and four bags of brown mulch at a different Home Depot,
and lugged them home.

on the way home I heard a clank, warning lights lit up on dash, saw the words Check Manual (not very helpful...) and when I push on accelerator
nothing whatsoever happened. One full second later power came back on and ran just fine. Hmmmm.
I wonder if I threw a code explaining that.
Nice to have all that room in back to throw all those heavy bags but I need to take the hitch off because it simply is in the way and I'm going to bash
my leg on it.

having lunch and then planning to plant those rose bushes.

Drew, I used to get a light on the dash of the International LT625 that looked like an engine. When I looked in the manual I was told it is a check engine light. I don't know how many times I stopped and opened the hood just to see that the engine was still there and not leaking any fluids.

the actual circumstances where you have to prove identity to Social Security is pretty slim, as long as you have an existing
online SSA account, as i do, and likely most of you. I logged on and poked around and didn't see anything extra about
saying hello anywhere, ask me my Mother's favorite flower, that sort of thing...

Bill, thanks, I was doing about 30 in heavy traffic when I heard that noise, so this was something mechanical, not likely electronic.
am hoping trans didn't think it was going in reverse or something, who knows what protocol it follows.
I'm going to go look under the hood now for any evidence of anything, which I really doubt.
My first guess is on the 4wd system.
I'm suspicious because when I put the drive mode to sport, it goes to 4A.
pretty sure it shouldn't and the manual says nothing about going to 4wd automatic.
Now I can see if you were going to peel out...you'd want all tires hooked up.
So if 4A makes it sportier??
more likely wears something out sooner.
In Ford Expedition's Sport Mode, the transmission holds lower gears longer, increasing throttle response and providing a sportier steering feel for a more dynamic driving experience.

this is first gen 10 speed automatic.
another reason to check OBD codes, if no trans faults, bad gas?
and what would make a clanking noise, a quick clank.

There has been a recall on 10 speed Ford transmission that down shift on its own while driving down road. Latest investigation into it happening was this week.

When my Jeep did a clank , once it was a hub issue, greased and fine.
Other was a front wheel sensor for 4WD, wasn't too expensive if I remember, I had someone replace it. But that was every time I backed up it would clunk, not going forward.

I have a cheap reader if you want to try it. Works with a phone and Bluetooth.

Another good meal at mission BBQ, this time the smoked cheeseburger. Very good. Stopped at HD (town the other direction) and picked up 8 ft Trex Rocky Harbor (right where they said it was), then went to Lowes and picked up 8 ft Trex Foggy Wharf. Neither had the color match screws.
During lunch got a call from the Pipeline people, wanting to remover some overhead electrical lines at the farm, in order to get an excavator in. I told them they are both hot, on same circuit. First pair can be brought down, as I moved the only thing using it last weekend, which was my camera. 2nd pair feeds our well pump, and must stay on. I got ahold of my brother and he drove the hour over, and is there now. He cut power to remove the garage line. They think they can work around the other line.

Put the 2 deck pieces on the deck for my wife to make the decision, she went with HD and Rocky Harbor. I'll cut the gray one for under the door, as it matches siding.
Cool wind today, not motivated to work outside.

Bill, that would not cause complete loss of power
but apparently a CDF clutch cylinder, whatever that is, is next in line
dealer is quite happy to put more parts in
I'm not aware of any lawsuits but there is a service bulletin about the cdf clutch cylinder failing in the transmission and needing to be replaced and it sounds like that may be your issue and would be covered under warranty.

anyone in the auto business knows of the class action lawsuits on this trans starting two years ago.
this was supposed to be the best of the best trans co-developed by Ford and GM.
there are lots of youtube videos on rebuilding the CDF clutch cylinder, looks expensive.
will cost me 100 bucks

as soon as that happened, I thought no way am I towing with this. Trans is built to fail. I just hope the new part
is better engineered.
I may be saving a half mpg with this trans but I'd rather have a ZF six speed.

Good Afternoon to the Good Morning crowd!

Really had to scroll through a lot of posts so I know how busy everyone has been!

Our weather is moving quickly into spring and we have mountain laurels blooming and bluebonnets popping up.

82°F this afternoon with slight clouds and calm winds. Some rain predicted after 6pm. Had a small hail storm a few nights ago. No damage here but some areas of the Texas Hill Country did get damage.

We had the opportunity to help a couple of folks from the Texas Coastal Bend area who wanted some help with a matter involving how auxiliary dwelling units are handled by cities. That was interesting and should turn out more acceptable to them than it was in the beginning. It was outside our framework a bit but never hurts to try something different.

Also got to help an applicant for a county position move from just an applicant to a finalist for the position. He will be a great asset for his county if they select him.

One of the best things that happened while I've been gone is that some seeds planted 4 years ago have bloomed in a good place and looks like a major change could be coming.

Nothing would surprise me but this is from ssa site

Wow, that might take awhile. But probably a good idea in the long run.

I have experienced this same thing at HD.

Hoping everyone has sunny weather and fair breezes this week! Prayers for our Nation!

Good (Thursday) morning. Overnight Low of 15.4C and it's presently 20.4C, partly sunny & fairly calm.

A lovely day was had yesterday and all tasks were accomplished. It turns out that the Wine Faeries sent me a 14 bottle case. <woo HOO!> All of the wines were from the State of Victoria. Veteran Coffee went well and, yes, I confirmed that I'd be the ANZAC Day Parade Commander (25th April). Groceries bought and arvo trip to Ansons Bay.

Today will involve more travelling and sign erection. I should finish that by tomorrow.

That's about it, take care all.
