Good morning,
27° and cloudy, may see a few peeks of sun early, showers possible by late afternoon. High temps in the upper 40’s, wind W 5-10 mph.

Not sure where yesterday disappeared to, only thing accomplished was getting a pizza for supper.

No real plans for today, just putter around and see what comes along.

Enjoy your day everyone

Poured first cup of coffee. 28° with mostly cloudy skies. Heading to 44° with some sun in afternoon. Other than checking mailbox adapter and taking Sassy for a walk. Not much else got completed yesterday. Hope to get more completed today. Will start off with getting trash out to front of house.
Got to be away to get up to feeder for a photo shoot.

good morning all
40 going up to 50 today in clouds
I see 80 something this Saturday but temps will continue to hop up and down.

my only plans for today are to plant the two rose bushes I got yesterday

door looks nice Don.
reminds me I have a few outdoor windows starting to peel, need to touch them up with white paint.
I told landlord if I could reach them on a step stool, I would do. Anything more than that, not my job.
I don't think they have had too many tenants touching up their paint...

have the replacement DC led ceiling light for the rv to replace a flickering one.
Problem is old one won't screw off or pry off, cheap plastic thing I know I'll break, but at least now I have the
replacement. I currently have black tape over the light, not the best presentation for sale so knew I had to fix this.
youtube instructions say to pry off. ok.

Good morning TBN!!
39 this morning. Coolest day of this week. Only about 69. I too see 80s in the forecast.
Not to much yesterday.
Changed the forks for the 4-n-1 Got some seat time spreading sand around the tank to contain oil. Also picked up some brush the wife created .
Unloaded the truck and the put genny and Plasma back on it. That should be all I need to finish. Still have to figure out how to get oil and sludge out. Any suggestions appreciated. Going to be a really sloppy job!!
Dr.s appointment this morning. Not really sure why but suspect it's more of a wellness check.
After that I may try to quit procrastinating and just finish cutting tank up.
Nothing else planned but we will see what the day holds.

Time for a second cup.
Everyone have a great and safe day!!

45 outside right now, heading to mid 50's. Rain expected? Is hit and miss season. Kind of puts a hold on firewood processing. Attempted and failed to move two big rounds to the burn pile area with the tractor. Wife did managed to move ten others that will not fit the splitter or are rotted. May have to get the chain saw out again on the big rounds. They are only five feet wide, but are too bulky for me to move (small area for big tractor). Heavy too. We shall see what today brings.

Need to do household chores today too. Dump runs and big box store for plumbing parts. Should also start on taxes, but we always owe, so no rush.

Hope all have a great day. Be safe.

good morning, 39 going to 46 wind later on

Household chores today and working the finger. Also have an appointment set up for PT early next week.

Found some firewood to be delivered next week to get a start on next season

Drew, that island sounds like a wonderful idea

Good Morning Happy,
What my boss does, is after tank removal from basement we cut the tank in half with a sawzall and dump Speedy Dry in and just keep mixing that with a shovel until all the oil and gunk residue is dry. Then bag that and bring the cap metal in to the recycler. Works well, hope that helps 😉
Still have to figure out how to get oil and sludge out. Any suggestions appreciated. Going to be a really sloppy job!!

Good Morning,
Ct, 31 to start going to 46. Sun was out but it looks like clouds moving in.

My friend that also owns a house in Vermont was kind enough to bring a bed extender over yesterday after noon. This thing slides into the tow hitch and then tees off to support longer boards. The Trex boards are 12ft so they stick out the back past the tail gate over 3 ft.

Ok my other big question is that I see online that all SS recipients need to show up at their SS office to prove they are still alive. Is this more fake news? Because I haven’t heard anything about this until this morning 🥲

Hope all have a good day 🙏

Good morning, the low is 19 and going to a high of 34°F. Wind NNW 8 mph. Periods of light snow.
We've got about 1.5" since the last time I plowed. Tomorrow maybe flurries and Saturday is the one to watch out for...Freezing rain.

My 'winter home heating oil' is getting down almost to the point of needing to top off the 500 gallon tank. Trouble is that I probably wont be able to top it off until maybe May, which is after the refinery changes over (change over is mid April) to summer fuel. So I have been looking at anti-gel formulas for the furnace oil. I have settled on Power Service in the white bottle. 2 jugs (64 oz) of it should treat 500 gallons of #2 diesel/home heating oil. I am thinking that the first jug should bring the gel point down to about -1F and the second one will bring it down to -40F. Correct me if I am wrong.
So, I top off the tank in summer (when the price should be cheaper) and come late October dump in one jug and coast on that until the temps get down near 10F then dump in the other jug. I do have a means of circulating it.
I think this will work, what do you think Scott?

Town and dump run today and maybe fill up my empty fiver with high test gas for the genny. That will bring me back up to 15 gallons on top of the 5 that is already in the genny.

There is my day planned out.

Have a safe day all

My guess is IF you've got a few hours to waste and your immune system is up to snuff, then why not? Can you phone them and ask them that same question?

Good Morning
37° and overcast, high of 47 predicted, with continued overcast, but no rain.

Yesterday’s breakfast was good lots of conversation about the topics dominating the news cycle.

Got the fireplace cleaned out, did some 3D printing and drawing, definitely getting faster at design work.
I removed the ashtray from the little plane and designed a cup / phone holder to go in its place.

I was pleased with the way it worked out. I am realizing how important 3D modeling / CAD skills are to fully benefit from a 3D printer.

I did help neighbor get wires to his pond, that project was the textbook example of a CF.
It started when he called and said that he couldn’t get the string through the conduit. I had instructed him to tie some binder twine to a plastic shopping bag and suck it through the conduit, a little over 300’ of 3/4” PVC.

So I packed up my trusty Stihl vacuum and the adapters that I had made for conduit and headed over. It made short work of the task at hand. I think his problem was trying to cram an entire shopping bag into the 3/4” conduit.
While I was there, I figured I’d continue and get the wires pulled, so I dispatched him to get a pair or jack stands and a pipe or bar that would fit into the reels of wire while I pulled a rope through the conduit with the binder twine.

The first piece he brought to support the reels was aluminum and bent like a banana before I had the last spool on it. He couldn’t find anything stronger, so I used a step drill to open up the spools to accept a broomstick.
The bundle of wires (4 number 10’s) was right between the two sizes of pulling grips that I brought, but i figured the bigger one would work fine as long as we kept tension on it.
And it did right up until the person pulling the rope got tired. When he resumed, the last 30 feet of rope came out with the grip and no wire. (My wire tugger was locked in another friends garage). So I had to pull all the wire out and repeat from sucking the twine through. I ultimately prevailed just before sunset.

Be interesting to see what today brings.

Saw dust and a match.
Could shovel it out, then burn it.

Good Morning Again,
NHBX, thanks I see that you only need to appear in person if you’re trying to change your DD bank info.
But thanks for the link 😃.

I think this will work, what do you think Scott?
Bill, that sounds like it will work to me, especially if you have a way to recirculate as you just said. We use a product called Hot, it comes in a pint bottle and we use it during the winter months on all outside tanks. Especially those that are on the north side of the customers home. Usually one bottle every delivery during winter on a 275 gallon tank. If it’s a larger tank then 2 bottles.
So I think your plan is a good one. 😃
