Lots of dirt to move, and lots of dead branches to prune. Most of my tools fit in the FEL bucket all right, but the pole saw is 12 feet long. Made perfect sense to couch it under my arm like a lance as I drove to the work site.

But now that I think about it, using the hydraulics to rear the Kubota up on its hind legs before I set out may have been over the top. :D

You must be having a very boring day...

Joe, your comment about the lance reminded me of an incident that happened here in Sask decades ago, back in the early 1970s. A Sask Power District Operator was driving down the road in his work truck, complete with truck rack, and he had tossed a pike pole on top of said rack but didn't bother to tie it down. These old pike poles were made of wood and were about 2 1/2" thick and from 14 - 18 feet long with a sharp point on one end to dig into a power pole.

Well, he was doing ok when he was on the dirt road but once he turned onto a paved road he increased his speed a bit. Just as he happened to meet a farmer on his tractor coming towards him, the front end of the pike pole got lifted up into the air a bit by the wind and sort of bounced across the rack over to the side and ended up spearing the tractor's air cleaner dead center! Fortunately it missed the farmer. Every time somebody mentions the word lance, or jousting, I remember that story.

Careful with that using your FEL as a tool box thing - bumps and ruts can cause tool problems. Ask me how I know...

Evidently, chainsaws don't like getting run over by 8000 pound machines for some reason.

Whenever I have used my FEL to carry stuff, I invariable get distracted and dump it all out.

I carry my pole saw in the FEL torque tube. Care is neede because it sticks out on both sides.
Wonder what the farmer thought when he saw that spear coming ?

This is one of my problems also.

ARRRGH! I hate it when that happens! Worse yet is when you grab a scoop of something, dump it, see a wrench sticking out of the pile... :mur:

I made a 3 tier rack to top of quick hitch shovels ,rakes and pole saw. My
weight boxs has a little room on top for chain saw, small tools.

ROTFLMAO!

I totalled a nearly brand new $500 chainsaw about 6 years ago when it got blade pinched by the tree I was felling and rolled under the trunk when it got loose.

I leave a rope with a hook on the ground next to the tree now-a-days where I can hook it through the handle if it pinches again before I back away. That way I can tug it to safety once it releases.

If the tree pinches but doesn't come down, at least you can unbolt the blade and put the spare in to finish the job.
