The BXpanded Plow allows you to raise the blade to "stack" the snow higher. Also, gives you nearly immediate use of your loader bucket if you need to move a big pile. Fits either of those tractors.

Manual blade angle adjustment? That stinks.

This video should answer some questions.

Kubota BX 24 plowing snow - YouTube

I would go with turfs, chains, and some weight in the back tires. You will then be an official snow fighter.

I would agree that hydraulic angling is convenient, but hydraulics are expensive and add complexity and inconvenience to the installation and removal. Our blade is not for everyone, but we think it's great for those who want to easily install and remove the plow, those who want to have easy use of their loader, and for those who don't want to dig completely to the bottom of their pockets to afford a good quality attachment.

I've found that with a little planning, I'm able to clear my entire odd shaped drive and my street without changing the blade angle more than once. As it takes only 10 seconds or so to change the angle, it doesn't seem to be a major hardship.

We have a BX2660 with turfs, a Curtis cab and a 60" blade. It goes great on blacktop and on snow as long as you dont get enough snow packed under it to high center it.
It has better traction than the B7500 (which has R4s) on hard packed snow (hard enough to support the tractor), the ground or the blacktop.
In loose or deep snow, the B7500 with R4s is ok and the L3830 with R1s is great.

Are you using chains with the turfs? Loaded tires or 3 pt rear ballast?

Getting/seeing allot of mixed replies on the R3 / R4 debate for snow removal. I'd prefer not to get into using chains on the asphalt. I can see using ballast. I figured the turfs would be better as well (as you state), but the dealers have me confused.

1. No chains (could mess up the asphalt)
2. No loaded tires as this is a mower first and foremost
3. No 3pt ballast as the 3 point was removed the first week we had it (see 2)
Note that the BX is used for one of three things: Mowing, Pushing show with the plow or Pulling the trailer. You may need weight in the back as you will have a loader.

Thinking of getting weights for the BX2660, but unless we are pushing back banks, it does fine (perhaps the extra weight of the cab is enough?).
I hope to get the tires on the B7500 loaded before winter as it needs more weight in the back. When the bucket is full of snow, the rear end is very light.

On a BX, the wheel weights are awesome. Tremendous difference.

I also did not load the tires for both yard and garden issues. The weights are not that bad to install or remove. Highly recommend them.

The BX with wheel weights is a snow plowing machine. It may well have something to do with lower center of gravity.

Oh how I wish I could find some wheel weights for my B2320.:(

I would go with turfs, 3 point ballast, no chains on asphalt. Philip.

YES!

but hydraulics are expensive and add complexity and inconvenience to the installation and removal.
But worth it if you move enough snow.

Agree, but I would not compromise.

10 Seconds??? Does not sound realistic. I even added hydraulics to my rear blade because it was such a pita to get off and adjust to get the job done the way I like.

See comments above. YMMV. Philip.

Hi Phillip, I'm sorry if 10 seconds "does not seem realistic". Here's a little video that shows 3 angle changes. Each in about 10 seconds. In fact, the video shows the blade being installed, the angle being changed 3 times and the blade being removed, all in 90 seconds.
It's perfectly clear that you have a strong preference for hydraulically angled blades and I'm glad you don't need to "compromise". Others might be more interested in other characteristics. I can assure you, if we have enough demand for a hydraulically actuated blade, we will offer one.
