About 12,000 years ago the Laurentide ice sheet advanced as far south as central Pennsylvania. It dumped loads of rocks and boulders as every New Englander knows. It was my bad luck that it stopped about two miles south of my house. So I have loads and loads of rocks to deal with, and to the south of me -nothing. If you think that you might live on the border of the glaciers advance, you can check by looking for rock pile borders on the farmers fields.

thanks for link to that site

Web Soil Survey

it was actually very up to date as last fall I did some dirt work around the barn (which was put up in 02) and showed the dirt with out any grass (which is there now) :) AERIAL PICS WERE COOL THOUGH

I couldn't read any data due to PDF as this system is on last legs and won't support running them without crashing anymore.)
