Generator Selection?

odd device. its meant for rail mounting and has a manual auto switch. never seen anything like it. have no idea where its made. i tried googling the brand name....nothing except amazon links.

I have a low speed single cylinder Changfa S195 with a Stamford Newage generator, which is rated 6 - 8 kW and if you wouldn't mind saying am curious of how you have set up your unit unit?
IE. Is it on a permanent small base of concrete block or stand & shed?
I have detailed instructions on foundation & shed for noise control but so far have not invested in building one.
Any information would be appreciated.

It's just a two pole switch and could be used for N1 - N2. One of the user questions asks about it and the reply was it can be used for 110V/220V. They also make a 3 and 4 pole version.
Ratings and markings might be an issue in places where inspections are required.
I'll be looking for a Reliance or similar unit with the gen socket built in though. Units rated for 60A are easier to find, but the output breaker on the GenSet is 70A, though I'd likely never approach max load.

I have limited resources and this is my generator story.
While I was on active duty the wife had to update our heating plant and she chose propane. So during casual conversation the propane guy supposed we'd be getting a whole house generator now that we got this big 250 gal tank for gas.
He recommended that we buy a generator not too big but big enough to keep our necessary circuits on that would last a long time. He said remember, 'it's an emergency outage, you don't nee every light on in the house'. And you don't know when the emergency will end.
So we got a Generac 6k and our pleased with it. It produces 7k with propane

Do the Generac extended contract prices drop as you get more years elapsed, or do they stay the same?

Right now they drop after original warranty expires, however with original warranty, the travel time and labor drop off after the second year. So if you don’t get extended until after the original 5 years has expired, you’ll be on the hook for those costs.

I have the 5 year extended with Mobile Link and I think that covers those items. Guess I need to compare again. I don't want to pay full tilt for something I already have most of.

When that 5 years expires, they will offer an additional 5 year full warranty. The price then will be lower than the offer to go 10 years now. But who can tell what will happen in 5 years to the cost. Generac has already implemented their 3rd price increase in a year or so. Their costs of products just keeps increasing, and they have to pass it along.

I hate when they get tossed in.
I'll have to move this thing some day. Noise is one reason, but there are a couple of others I'll not get into here.
It works and all, so no real urgency. I've been working on getting a new pad laid out and some early ground prep done that is as much landscaping as anything else.
The move means new gas line (again) and of course, new cable. I got the gas line a couple of weeks ago at no increase in price from a year ago. Started looking at the cable again and my former source for the multi-cable was out of stock with a new supply due in soon. They still showed the former price of $7.60 per foot though, but I knew, (we all know everything has gone up) it would go up some. I saw the new price today ..... $13.90/foot. Dang. Major, MAJOR monkey wrench.
Ziller is still at $10.90/ft for the 17KW+ version with 3 #3s and $9.50/ft for the 16K and under version with 3 #4s. (Prices based on 35' since their scale is sliding.)
I'll have to check, but I don't think I'll be under $9/ft for individual conductors considering I'll need conduit for those. The special cables are rated direct burial, so conduit isn't required, though I was planning on using some kind of flex for a little extra protection.
