Frost heave?

   / Frost heave? #31
This is what I have now. There IS a bit of slope, so a drain pipe from under a course gravel doorway channel could work. The opening is 13' x 13', so framing it in to 12' x 12' might work okay. I would move the firewood rack, close off the left door section and put in a 36" walk in service door and put in a roll up door. Like I need another project out here. This may morph into a different thread...

If you took out one door could you mount the existing other door on the inside of the wall keeping more snow and water away. Then still bury styrofoam underneath where the bottom of the door is when closed.

There's no way I'm going to re-mount that door. It's waaaay too heavy. If either one comes down, it'll be cut up and/or the metal repurposed. Morton nailed these together, no screws in these...

To eliminate frost heave remove material to below frost line and backfill with material that will not support capillary action!
