Finish Mower Mounted on Front?

Could a finish mower be reversed and mounted on the of a tractor?

I know a driveshaft would have to be made to connect to my pto at rear of tractor.

If a winch was used to raise any lower it I would think it would follow the ground.

If you have the hyd GPM's and pressure, you can drive a hyd motor driven deck.

You could also add a hyd motor to a gear box and move the 3pt finish mower to the front.

A number of old model Gravley garden tractors had a front mower option.

There is a company the sells a front mount that adapts the three point equipment to run on the front, and down speeds a mid mount pto to rear mount pto speeds. It's pretty speedy, but it's available. I'll see if I can find the link.

I have played with the idea. For a number of years I mowed with a five foot Arts Way PTO deck which I converted to run off a 16 hp Briggs Van Gard twin that sat on top of it. This was needed as my little home-built tractor did not have a PTO or high output hydrauilcs.

While mowing I would often day dream about mounting it on the frt.. Always figured if I did this I would use a electric clutch rather then the twin belt with hand tensioner.

Sure would be nice to have it on frt. where you could see it.
