Anyone add casters to their ballast box? I bought some from HF today and plan to attach them to a JD factory ballast box. Any pictures exist of this already done?

I have a factory ballast box and welded on a set of casters. Works great on the concrete garage floor but if you have an asphalt drive or parking area it will slowly sink into the asphalt. I parked mine on the asphalt over night and came back to find small divots in the asphalt from the wheels, probably about a 1/4" deep. If it can sink a 1/4" in one night, I'd hate to park it there and come back from vacation a week later. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Like others I just set the box on a peice of plywood with four casters. This way the casters stay in the garage and I don't have to worry about the box mounted wheels digging up the turf on slopes.

Just buy the HF 1000# funiture dolly, works great! At $8.95, it's pre-made and even cheaper than (4) heavy-duty casters. Plus, it comes in handy when the ballast box is not sittin' on it! Two birds with one stone, and better than wheels hanging off the box IMO.
