Excavators: was 310E controls

I found an interesting bit of Case knowledge today. It appears I was in error when I said before that Summitomo made the 88 series excavators. They were made by Poclain. The pic shows a Case/Poclain 1088, the largest of the 88s.
So, the Summitomo line started after the 88s.

I also found that the Drott, IH Europe, and Ford Europe excavators were all made by Yumbo of France. Weird...

Scott, Poclain was a french company when Tenneco got it in the late 70's. Is Yumbo some connection with the old Poclain co.?

I'm not entirely sure but I think they were seperate companies... I've never heard them mentioned together and the designs of machines they made were really different.
