Sorry guys, its a string machine she wants. Disregard blower.

spouse wants a battery powered blower to bring along and use, at her dad's place which is 7 hours drive from us. Any of you folks using the ones Ego makes? Hows it working for you? We already have there batteries. Thanks!!!

I've been using one for a while and love it. A little easier on the arm and ears and with about as much power as my gas powered one. I would recommend. Having battery is just one less gas engine I have to worry about.

Which model do you have?

I have the Ego 765 blower and I regret buying it. Battery doesn't last very long. I ended up buying a large Echo backpack blower. I use the Ego to blow dust out of the garage, and to blow grass clippings off of the gazebo patio now. About what it's good for....

I have the LB6500-FC and use the 56V 5.0Ah battery (BA2800T-FC). It's not going to push leaves all day but does a great job cleaning up after mowing.

I bought an EGO weed trimmer and liked it so much that I bought another so that my wife and I can both trim weeds at the same time. I bought the model with a carbon fiber shaft and auto line load. I really like the auto load feature. You just thread the line through the head so that equal amounts stick out of each side of the head, press a button, and the line is fed into the head. Last two summers we put many hours on the trimmers. HOWEVER, this year when I went to use the trimmers, one of them won't load the line. I press the button and the thing clicks once and then nothing. If I wait a minute and press the button the same thing happens. So I took the head apart and can find nothing wrong. Now, even though I would love to give the trimmer a great review maybe I can't. The head has a 1 year warranty and the rest of the trimmer has a 5 year warranty. I suspect the problem is not in the head but is instead in the control circuitry, which is not in the head. I am going to contact EGO and see if they will replace the trimmer. So, out of two trimmers one still works great, and when they are working they do a great job, especially the auto load feature. The auto load feature is especially nice for someone who has arthritis, which I do. And I also have nerve damage in both hands from when my wrists were crushed. For anybody with neuropathy the auto load is a great feature. Auto load makes a huge difference for me, not having to wind the line in by hand.

Don’t buy the DeWalt… it broke 15 minutes out of the box…

Any model with a driveshaft has to be better than the DeWalt with the motor on the weed end.

We technically have 2 EGO trimmers. One that I put a pole saw on as well, one that's strictly a trimmer. Has an odd bend in it. A tree and a tractor were somehow involved in that, but won't fess up. Had to replace the pole saw attachment for the same. Darn tractor....

That's unfortunate; I've been extremely happy with mine. Were you able to return it?

I have the EGO string trimmer with the carbon fiber shaft. It’s super easy to load new string and works great. I brought my old Stihl up north and had nothing but issues trying to load new string. Huge PITA. I am going to give it away or take it to the dump. I just don’t need the aggravation. The EGO you just press a button and auto loads just that easy.

Exchange Only as it was part of a Christmas Set that included blower…

The blower works fine for the front porch area and I have other DeWalt battery tools.

A very old 12v drill that is very good plus two saws that are ok and flashlight I use a lot.

The gear in the trimmer head broke and when I went back to the reviews others mentioned similar and/or motor smoking.

My first DeWalt tool was a biscuit joiner and very pleased with it.

You have an AP Stihl Trimmer to give away?

It’s a 2 stroke .

I don’t remember the exact model off hand, but it’s similar to the homeowner class FS 38 if not the same one. Probably 10 years old, one of their cheapest models. Just all set dealing with those old style spools.

I’m not so much a fan of Stihl 2-stroke and prefer Echo.

Stihl battery homeowner tools use the AK battery and commercial the AP battery.

With battery tools it’s pretty much decide on a platform and go from there… especially if you want interchangeability.

Milwaukee has a most comprehensive line of battery tools… but I only have their corded.

I have multiple brands of battery tools. DeWALT, Craftsman, Makita, Kobalt, EGO, Toro. I guess I didn’t subscribe to the one line of battery powered stuff. :)

I haven’t tried any of the Stilhl battery stuff yet. I have all 2 stroke from them. 2 chainsaws, backpack blower and the trimmer. All run great.

Not really a dig at Stihl on the trimmer. It’s how they all were and a hassle to reload the old style spools. I’ve had various trimmer brands over the years.

At the Christmas Tree Farm we kept 5 Stihl gas saws just to have 3 ready to use… plus paying for carbs repairs and such.

Now we have 2 Stihl AP battery chainsaws and 5 years with zero issues… not a single one on a 3300 tree average Christmas volume.

The Stihl dealer suggested we try the then new AP battery saw and we were sold.

Not ego, but I have three Milwaukee M18 string trimmers and they are all fantastic. I got the original, then added an attachment capable one with a few different attachments and just got the bicycle handlebar brush cutter for comfort when all I’m doing is string trimming.

I have a greenworks pro 80v snow broom that works well. It’s a mini snowblower held like a string trimmer. I also have an 80v blower that works very well. I actually haven’t started my echo gas blower since getting it.

I have an EGO trimmer, with split boom. Have the pole saw and regular trimmer attachments. So far they work great, 2 years old. With the 2.5ah battery , it's unbalanced, so just beware..
