Dump trailer hydraulics

I purchase a 14' dump trailer. We tested the dump when I purchased it.. Battery power was provided by the pickup truck that was wired to the battery on the dump tailer. I got it home and could not get it to raise. I charged the battery on the trailer but still did not raise. I click the up and down buttons but no movement or noise. Any advice for troubleshooting advice?

You should start with testing the battery. Sounds like it will not hold a charge. A full charging and a load test will verify the batteries state.
Make sure it has water in it if it is a maintenance type battery.

The thing I forgot to mention was check for loose wires too.

I took the battery to an auto parts store to check it out. Appears to be ok. Checked the wires and appears avert thing is tight

I think but don't know there should be some action from 1 battery but what I do know is when my son dumps his it's plugged into the truck as well with the motor running this also helps keep a charge in the trailer battery. His likes lots of electricity.

Any fuses or fusible links in the wire?

My 14' SureTrak dump trailer has a mechanical lock to prevent the bed from dumping, I've never used it but it's there. Just a thought.. good luck...

Not sure whether OP figured it out. I would put jumper cables from a known working vehicle (running) battery and see what happens. Even if the original battery is dead that will move the bed. If a no-go, problem is elsewhere.
