Just to beat the pushing idea a little more, when you are pushing, aren't you pushing against the lock mechanism as opposed to pulling against the solid part of the hitch. I guess I would ask the dealer about it. My trailer has the single cylinder and I have occasionally have to use a jack to get it started if I put to much material up front. Maybe two cylinders would eliminate that. I have heard of a trailer frame twisting, but it was cause someone put a big rock in one front corner without trying to balance the load.
