Does anyone else ride bicycles?

I used to ride my beloved diamond frame MTN bike. Now, due to balance (or lack of) issues, I recently bought a Sunseeker E-Fat Tad recumbent trike with 500 watt electric boost. I'm still customizing it and setting it up for my likes.
For instance, I replaced the index shifters ((n):poop:🤮) with some nice vintage friction shifters I bought used from Gringeneer Cycles. We Sell New and Used Vintage and Modern Bike Parts and Frames.
Lots of little adjustments to make, including the placement of brake levers, shifter locations, and now the motor control / display panel.

The 2-wheeler I had many years of fun with:

Heavy, simple, indestructable.

The new wheels for the old man:

We got a bit of snow (6” or so) and more to come so i dug the Bucksaw out of the closet and went to Weeks/Moodys in Gorham, Maine. It was a bluebird day so lots of bikers/hikers out.

The trails were amazing.

The knee felt pretty good too! Happy trails!

Many years ago, I found a website/forum about guys up in Alaska riding bikes in the winter. It was called Icebike. The trail riding reports were great. Some of the trails were actual frozen rivers. Talked about equipment, clothing, face shaving. One guy had a healthy thick beard. Someone asked if it kept his face warmer than clean shaven. So he trimmed on have off. I think his answer was no difference. They even had fat studded tires and wider rims for them. Jon

I do have a ski for the front of my mountain bike, but the slope must be pretty intense for it to work.
I remember the first time I took my XC mountain bike out when it was below 10F and the shock seals failed. Thankfully it was under warranty at the time.
The way the shock is set up, the bike is unrideable when the shock fails. That was a cold walk.

When the temp hits 40 or lower I don’t ride. When it snows I’m pretty sure I’d break bones riding.

I recall a website called Icebike.??? that I think predated the present Icebike.org. The older site was centered around Minnesota and nowhere near as slick as the present site but had articles like what lubricant to use that would not gel/stiffen/freeze at -30°F; how to rout the soles of Lacrosse ice fishermans' boots to mount Shimano SPD cleats (introduced c 1990) and keep one's feet warm before proprietary Winter cycling boots were available (also early 90's); what were the best sheet metal screws to use when making homemade studded tires; and similar useful information for the lunatic fringe.
