DPF issues it wouldn't regen I guess and the filter says at 80% had the horrible smell for like 3days even it just setting there. Anyways been driving it more to try and get it clean but I am only getting 10.8mpg. I could go get it cleaned and be back doing it again, when? Or I just go ahead get rid of the none sense, increase my mpg and pull better. I looked into Smarty at first but they can't do the deletes.

You're right, I just looked on their site and did not see anything. What's strange is there isn't anything for the 08 model either and I know they used to sell it because I've been trying to talk my dad into deleting his 2008, maybe they didn't want to risk getting in trouble selling a delete tune.

Jim,
I run a Smarty Jr. in my 2003 Dodge/Cummins Ram 3500. I keep it in performance tune at 100 hp. I can squeeze 2 mpg more out of it..............if I keep my foot out of it. I love it and suppose to change it to 50 hp tow mode for towing, but I don't................and just keep my foot out of it. Manually changing tunes is a pain.
hugs, Brandi

Be careful not tuning down to tow. A buddy of mine ran a Edge on his Cummins and forgot to tune down with his 10,000# boat. He accelerated hard then let off of it and the back pressure blew the intercooler apart.

I know on my Fords I ran Quadzilla. I have a 60, 120, 180 HP gain. They don't recommend going past 60 for towing for this very reason.

What is the "deletes" that is mentioned several times. I have thought about programmer/ chip for my 2006 but the deletes reference is not familiar.

That is for deleting the DPF (diesel particulate filter). Your 2006 doesn't have that.

Give Phil a call at Anarchy Diesel in Tennessee, I have a 08 Cummins that had 3 turbos replaced before 50,000 miles. EFI is the best tuner on the market and Phil is one of the best in the country with top customer service. I did not care about lots of extra power, just looking for a reliable truck. No problems for the past 35,000 miles and fuel mileage went from 15.5 to around 19 to 20 in the summer. Google AutoCal Lite, it has 3 programs, one 50 hp - 75 hp - 100 hp. You will smile every time you drive your truck.

Jim,
Just checked out their website. I gotta go visit them. That area of Willis is growing fast with Mom and Pop businesses. I don't go that way often, as that is the crowded, lake side, of Willis.

Have any of you long wheelbase Cummins owners swapped your 2pc driveshaft for a single one?
I ordered one for my MegaCab and plan to pick it up at the dealership tomorrow. I've read that it makes the trucks a lot smoother.

Yours could already be a 1 piece. They used both one piece and 2 piece, often on the exact same model trucks. The 2 piece has a carrier bearing that is known to wear and cause vibration.
Mine's an 06. The dealership couldn't recommend a 1pc part# for my truck, but I found it by researching the forums. There's hours of reading on that topic.

Mine is a shortbed and it has a nasty vibration at somewhere around 65 to 75 mph. Faster or slower it goes away. I've also done some reading on the forums and its seems its usually the driveshaft, but not always. It can be very hard to fix.

My 07 LWB has the two piece shaft while my dads 08 LWB has a aluminum one piece. I have two buddies that swapped from the 2 piece to a aluminum one piece and both said the truck was smoother after. When I need to start replacing u-joints in mine I'll probably just order a one piece.

The only truck I have ever owned with a 2 piece drive shaft was my 05 Dmax. It ate carrier bearings and U-joints also.

Never thought of swapping in a one piece.

Hmmm. Shortbed would be a 1pc anyway.
I don't have any nasty vibrations, but it shudders a little at takeoff and has some annoying bouncy vibes on the interstate. I do have a 4.5" suspension lift and 35s though.
I'm planning to change mine out today before I go home, so i'll let you know what happens.

I guess you gotta take the bad with the good when you drive a real truck with straight axles.

I ran an Edge in my 03 Powerstroke for the 10 years I owned it. Kept it on race program. 80 HP increase. No problem since I opened up the intake, exhaust, and put in gauges.
