Diesel Mule

Anyone know what diesel engine is in a 2002 Mulle 2510 4x4? Kawasaki is not known for making diesel engines. I wonder what's under the hood of the diesel Mule? Anyone own one and would like to share your experience in term of reliability and maintenance issues? How do you like it? Thanks for your comments.

They are made by diahatsu and seem to be the same as the briggs vanguard 3 cylinder. We just bought one at a very good price and replaced the broken crank. Delaer said they had never heard of one breaking a crank but the new one was a superceded part # and was much beefier. Inside the motor didn't show any wear at all. Currently ours has 3900 miles and 900 hours and it sounds great when we started it for the first time. If we can get year out of it we will get our money worth.
