Hi , someone out there must have had my problem as these EPS systems are junk and fail. Here’s where I’m at … the unit was replaced under warranty at about 100 hrs , now at 200 hours the electronic side of it failed the replacement motor is fine when power was put to it . The new replacement is $1,000 not even a consideration. Can anyone come up with an idea to fix electronic side …. because no power is coming out of plug to power steering shaft …see pictures of electronic side and motor.

The change from 618-918 just means they changed the packaging.
MTD just changed the prefixes when they re-cataloged. That change doesn't equal a part spec change. Have you tried their CAC for at least some goodwill assistance?
All that aside, I've not opened one up but have similar ish types of things. If push comes to shove, hopefully one can figure it out or reboot the thing w/ manual steering. Yuk.
