The second EPS unit failed on my Cub Cadet … first covered under warranty… now this $1,000 replacement is on me …. thousands are failing around the country yet there is almost no info on them … strange … the issue is these tractors are barely worth $1,000 and I hate to throw the baby out with the bath water … and I know about the back to manual steering option… but just thought it may be an inexpensive fix for a knowledgeable electronics shop . The motor is fine , there is power going to electronic unit , but no power coming out of it to feed the pump motor . Anyone out there know of a good auto electronics shop in Hudson Valley NY … shipping it would be out of the question as it weighs a ton .

Can't answer your question but sure is interesting. Is this power assist steering and a switch is actuated when you steer L or R? That's how atv's work.
Yes , power assist is transferred at the correct amount to left or right and activated the turn of the steering wheel. They never perfected it , as I read of a lot of failures, but oddly enough… no information out there on a fix, other than reconverting back to manual steering …. or replacing with new unit … $1,000. My thing is if there is an inexpensive quick fix , I’m thinking, someone out there has figured this out , when there are 100s of failures out there.
