Have a 2305 - looking at adding the Imatch quick hitch, also the loader / mower diverter valve (big money) are these worth the extra $$$ -

How about aftermarket attachments will anything Cat 1 work or is there something that needs to be JD specific... JD's attachment prices are located on the F'in Moon if you know what I mean -

The 3PT on the 2305 is not a full CAT 1, does Deere list the Imatch to use on that model?

I hear the Imatch is a nice system and no, like most quick hitches, it will not fit all 3pt attachments. There is a standard for CAT1 hitches and if an attachment meets the standard the Imatch will work. Unfortunately the standard is not met by many manufactures.

Hi:

I have a 2305 (A 3720 cab too). I have I-Match on my 3720 and Pat's easy change system on the 2305. They both are great. I also have a couple of cheap Harbor Freight ($69) quick hitches that I don't use since the fittings are too bulky for a lot of my attachments.

The advantage of Pat's system over the I-Match is you can fit it on non-imatch compatable items. It'll also give you a small amount of lift by extending the arms.

I also have the hydraulic diverter valve. I was perfectly happy with the mechanical lift but I got the hydraulic lift and diverter valve so I could mow with the backhoe on my 2305. (I have a woods BH6000 as I got it long before JD offered the 260).

The only issue you'll have with aftermarket attachments is lift height. I've never had an issue but have heard of folks with post hole diggers having lift height issues. My BH and Chipper used to scrape (barely) when loading onto a trailer but now I have longer ramps and they don't. (I used to have short screen ramps that were steep).



It's pretty cool to be able to mow with the backhoe and bucket on (I don't do that A lot but it's nice to have the option).

If I didn't have the BH I wouldn't bother with the hydraulic lift/diverter unless I had 3pt implements I wanted to leave ON while mowing. The mechanical lift works just fine and doesn't droop. (ALL of the hydraulic lifts will NOT hold the deck up, they leak down quickly).

I run a DR wood chipper off of the 2305 and 3720 and even the 2305 has plenty of ummph to run it. If I'm chipping a 4" log I slow down a bit and it's fine.

Just a FYI. Recently got the new 485 BH and it's so easy to install/uninstall (no wrenches). This was a HUGE factor in my decision to purchase the 485.
