Yeah ... no.

The virus (or plural for multiple, potentially different viruses) is out there in many, many, many people.

It will mutate ... so not “stable” ...

A department in Boston college hasn’t “stabilized it” ...

Now they may have come up with something very promising that is capable of addressing multiple variations of the virus ... but I’d want to read more on what exactly it was that FNC reported.

Take your time.

I just heard that keeping Amazon packages on the porch for a day should negate the virus on the cardboard. This from a resident doctor on a TV network.

My closest neighbor (with a vehicle) is 2 miles away. No issue with keeping a package on my porch that long....but cannot see that workable in the cities...unless someone has a big unfriendly dog to park beside it.

I had an order sent to my employer's office because the vendor won't deliver to PO boxes and UPS won't come to my house this time of year. They didn't tell me that things were backordered until after they took my money. The order finally shipped last Wednesday, Thursday we were told that the office was being closed indefinitely and everyone is working from home. Friday FedEx allegedly delivered my order... it's nowhere to be found. I suspect they left it on the doorstep and it's in somebody's apartment now, although I don't know what the average druggie will do with drafting triangles, engineer's scales, and lettering guides.

Yay, good one! Sensational at its best.
Don't have a clue where you think that is sensational...it's real...people are escaping urban areas and adding to the disruption of local residents...and they are bringing the fooking virus with them...! it's a real problem and some people may find themselves like strangers in a strange land...!

Re: New York coronavirus cases surge 38% overnight to 20,875

Cuomo estimates that up to 80% of the states more than 19.4 million residents will get the coronavirus.
Roughly 13% of all cases have been hospitalized, 621 of the patients have ended up in the ICU and 157 people have died, he said.
New York has run 78,289 COVID-19 tests and is testing more than 16,000 people a day now, he said.

I wonder if they got those test kits China was giving away that gave 80% false responses?

As for the China reports, I hope and pray they ARE accurate. If they are accurate, there is hope for us. If they have lied about the number of people infected and/or dead, then we might be in a world of hurt.

Italy's death rate now 10.0
US death rate 1.5
S. Korea rate 1.37

these death rates are not the end all do all, but just a general trend. We don't know the number hospitalized, and different countries have different population density's.
Gov. Cuomo advised today the the rate of hospitalizations is trending down. NOT the number of hospitalizations but the rate of increase is trending down. I see that as good news if it holds.

My state took action to “flatten the curve” 1.5 weeks ago. In another week we will just start to see if that helped. However 2.5 weeks ago there was very little testing. People are alarmed the numbers are still climbing. Of course they are, the results today are still from the spread before action was taken. Hopefully in another week the Rate of increase will start to decrease, but there will still be increase for awhile because it spreads exponentially and there is now more testing. Mild cases however are still not tested.
