Just picked up a 3 point 5 foot blade. Problem is I can't turn the blade around with out removing because it hits the lift arms. BX lift arms come from such a low pivot point that with any implment they are angled up even when implment is on the ground. Dealer where I got teh blade(not Kubota) says they typically want the lift arms to be in the same plane as he implement frame which is easy to do on a full size tractor but not so on compact. The easy solution would be a 5 foot blade that was only 12 inches tall instead of 14 then it would clear. I know a 4 footer would make it but wanted the extra width so that when angled it still is wider than tractor. Kubota blade is 4 ft. Anyone know a brand of blade that is purposly sized for subcompact tractors?

I have the Woods Estate Series back blade - made especially for sub compact tractors. I use it (and the Woods estate series landscape rake) on my bx2200. Both work great; no problem reversing them; and, with the blade in reverse, I can lift it 16 inches off the ground. I wanted that so I could "reach over" snow. I may drill holes in my lift arms and the arm lifters to get even more height. (Haven't got around to putting snow birds on my metal roof yet!)

I have a woods RB5. Works great. Lifts real high. In fact I used the hitch points as a pattern for my box blade to get the pins lower and narrower to work with my 2200. The Box blade has now become a very useful tool. Could only raise it about 4 inches before.

Where did you guys buy your Woods 5 foot blade. How much did it cost?

Thanks

BXMMCC... Thanks for the information. I live near Pittsburgh so I am quite a ways from Intercourse, PA. I will look for a dealer in my area.

Just off the top of my head--How about cutting off a little at the corners of the upper portion of the blade moldboard and, or shorten the toplink a little--Ken Sweet

Yup, that what I did, bought an old used 6' blade and shortened it to 5. My brother cut the top corners of his so his blade would spin around as well. Works great.

Trimming the blade is possible I suppose unless you have to trim off a huge chunk. How old is your BX? Some of the early models 2000 for example had a modification that the dealers could do later on to help with some implements.

If angle of the arms is the problem and they aren't down on their stops, or adjusted downward as far as possible, couldn't you run the back tires on something to raise the rear end to allow you to pivot it, so the 3pt hangs more? I had a BX for awhile and there were usually some shenanigans involved in putting implements on it. It is not really a Cat 1 it's a Cat 1*

* 1. Buy a Quickhitch
2. Get a Back Brace
3. Put all implements on dollys.
4. Find really strong neighbor or have your other backhoe handy
5. Have salesman show you over and over and over how to put on implements until he gives you a QuickHitch for free! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I purchased a KingKutter 5' grader blade from Tractor Suppply Company ($220.00). It has plenty of room to spin completely around. I've been impressed with the performance over about 20 hours on claiche as my BB has set idle since I bought the grader. Yesterday, after I graded a couple hundred yards of roadway, I did notice a little wear starting around the pin hole. Guess I'll weld a bead around the hole and harden things up a little.

Rocketman... Are you using that KK blade on a BX2200? If so, is your blade one of the XB series blades or a standard KK blade?

I took back the one that would not work with out some modification. Picked up a Woods RBC60 Estate series and it works perfect. Thanks for the suggestion. The thing I learned in all of teh shopping around is that the bx2200 3pt is not compatible with every thing but is "limited". That is ok as ling as you keep that in mind when looking at implements.

Yep, I'm using it on a BX2200. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif I don't think I know the difference between an XB and a regular KK. The data label is scratched up pretty good; however, I think it reads TRB-60T. There is a total of 10 adjustments (five forward and five reverse). Hope this helps.

Thanks Rocketman

KK came out with a line of implements that are designed for sub compact tractors (XB line). I wondered if yours was one of the new designs. I bought an XB middle buster/subsoiler this spring. It is the right size for my BX but the quality was pretty bad (more cosmetic than structural).
