As above, these have a metal, odd shaped thing that says Kubota BX and is ribbed.
Others do not.
What is it, which section of part book?

You have a picture of what you are talking about?
I found out it was a cover for a balancer (for the 2 cyl) some sort of geared/chained weight.
Still looking for it in the parts book.

It is just a chunk of metal bolted to the engine to help with vibration/harmonics of the 2cylinder engine. I couldn't find it in the parts book either.
My dad has a 1500 and I was curious about that weight also when he bought it.

It really doesn't even rotate?
Just mass?

My weight broke off its mounts early. The tractor works fine without it. Over 2Khrs at this point.

Wow, that's surprising, if I recall they are bolted to the exhaust manifold along with some other brackets.

Did you do a lot of low idling?

Full power mowing work, with some lugging down. Also a plugging fuel filter slow to be identified. It was running fine and smooth when I heard such a clatter. One of the suspension struts (leftward) holding the weight fatigued and broke right at the point it was bolted to the weight. I unbolted the right side from its strut and removed the weight. I have never detected any ill effects. Its just as smooth at mid to full rpm, and with ~20# off of a high front location Ill even bet the tractor is a little more stable on side slopes. "FREE MONEY" ;)
