BX SN #s

My first BX tractor (had a problem and is being exchanged) came in the "kit" with a 60" deck the wheels attached and ROPS. It had a SN# of 610##. My freind also got one and it was 59###.
My new tractor, coming on Tuesday has a number of 5A8##. It is not part of a kit and was crated with no wheels on.
I just thought the SN# difference was odd. Does anyone know whatssup wit dat?? All have the grease fitting on the hydro peddal. Thanks for any info. on this trivial issue.

The BX's with the serial # that include the letter are built in the Georgia plant (same place all the lawn and garden tractors are built) while the ones with no letter are built in Japan. Having two production points was necessary to try to keep up with the increasing demand of the BX's.

Sorry you have it backwards. A letter in the serial number indicates it was made in Japan. KMA in Gainesville, GA uses only numaric characters.

Essentially it was a loud and repeatable noise that I personally believe was some form of hydro problem. I'm sure it was fixable but with 6 tenths on the meter I didn't want to deal with it.

After close examination my new tractor was manufactured in Osaka Japan. Also the closest thing I can find (still looking trescrows ;^) to a problem is that it has alot more scratches and chips than the Georgia built one. In fact the Georgia built one had its share too. Oh well, Kubotas are afraid of paint. Lets hope its not afraid of the 7 inches of grass that I have in store for it!
