Don't buy Coke unless there's nothing else. Pepsi is better, Mountain Dew better yet.
But usually, I get the store brand of SODA in 2-liter bottles.
That’s fighting words in the South, home & birthplace of the only true cola, Coke.

If Coca Cola branched out into the fossil fuel business, would they make us call one of the products "Coke Brand Coke?"

You mean like "Band-Aid", "Kleenex", & many other brand names that are used by millions of people EVERY DAY?
I can't think of a better compliment for a brand.
I'm sure Bush hog doesn't mind.

As was stated before Bush Hog is a brand name Home - Bush Hog They make rotary cutters and other implements. Try an experiment - go into a non Bush Hog dealer and ask for Bush hog parts. As a former parts person when asked for Bush Hog parts I would reply we don't carry Bush Hog, you will have to find a Bush Hog dealer. Then they would stand there confused for a moment and then say well it is a Woods bush hog. Then I would explain that Bush Hog is a brand name just as Woods is, but they both make rotary cutters.
If you have even been in parts you understand, if not you will catch on --- someday when you want that dohicky under that whatchamabob behind the airbender.

Years ago had a woman come in and ask for that little thing on the side of their tractor. It went something like this: what model is it? I don't know. What does it look like? A tractor. What color is it? red. Can you call you husband and find out what make and model it is? No, he is out plowing. (no cell phones in the70's) Finally she said You ought to know what it is you sold it to us 20 years ago.
Another time a fellow came in and stated he needed parts for his Minneapolis Moline 165. As relatively new behind the counter I was confused. I stated MM didn't make a 165 tractor but Massey Ferguson did. No he said I know what I have and it is a MM 165. Well after about a half hour of trying to figure out what he had he turned stomped out the door cussing and carrying about how stupid I was and he would never come as we were to dumb to get him parts. Well about an hour later the boss came back and I explained to him what transpired. Then he explained what was wrong, He said he wanted parts for a 335 tractor. the 335 tractor used a 165 engine! MM had a serial number tag on the transmission for the tractor AND a easy to find tag on the engine.

Very few parts required for a Kleenex, Vise grips, or other mentioned brand names that have become commonly used terms.

Of course, if you wanted to give good service to your customer, knowing full well that the term Bush Hog has become fairly generic for rotary cutter, you could have said: "If you mean a rotary cutter, what brand and model is it? We don't carry the Bush Hog brand but we carry Woods, etc" But it sounds more like you wanted to make a point more than you wanted to serve your customers the best you could...

Sometimes youth has a way of being brash while trying to educate customers so you can fulfil their needs or wants. Day after day of people not knowing what they want, the model, and sometimes even the make of equipment, you would like to make a point so they come with the correct information so you can give them the correct part and they are satisfied that you gave them the correct part. It beats having them return with the wrong part because YOU did not know what machine or serial number they own.

Never thought my being "picky" would generate so many comments!! Glad to see it has provoked so much thought and comments.

I dislike it when someone says they are "filming" when they are using a video process and when they say they are videotaping when they are using the cell phone on a camera (that obviously doesn't have any tape in it at all).
I also despise the media when they talk about "U.S. fighter jets" when the last U.S. propeller driven fighter in was retired in 1957.
Then there's TV crime shows that the civilian characters say they are "checking the military DNA database" or have "checked the military records" of a suspect. Sorry folks - that's illegal.
And don't get me started when the new McGyver uses a handheld Motorola radio with an omni-directional antenna to jam a satellite that's 23000 miles up in orbit.....
But hey......
I keep it to myself.
Most of the time.
BTW. I have a King Kutter bush hog.

Just like a skid steer is a bobcat. I love it. I say oh you got you a bobcat. He says it's a John Deere. I say oh it's a John Deere bobcat... I love doing that.
My Crescent wrench is adjustable.
