Looks great Koop! I like the color; it is going to blend with the surrounding nicely. This may be a silly question but if you need a bridge to cross the stream how did the crane get over there?

Thanks for all the positive feedback.

We have a low water crossing which was our sole access point before the bridge. Once the heavy lift helo broke down (HAHA), we had to revert to old school and the crane just drove across.

Next projects will be an entry marker and lighting (maybe).


I cannot decide between one huge boulder on each side of the drive, a stone pier on each side or a garden island bordered in rock on each side. I have more rock than any man could find a purpose for on the property.

Power is about 800' away so I am still not sure about trying to bring electricity down to the bridge.

There are several solar powered lights on the market or a DIY is not too tough. Are you interested in architectural highlighting, safety, or what? You could put in a lot of solar electric lighting for way less than the cost of 800 ft of wire not to mention the trenching and other work.

The DIY version wold let you customize the system to your specific desires/needs. I'm sure there are any number of people here at TBN who could help you. I have done several PV designs and installs (in the middle of one now) and would help if you want.

That's a terrific bridge. It's a lot larger than one of my favorite bridges which is on State Hwy 123 in Arkansas and is only 10 feet wide.

That bridge looks like it should last a few hundred more years. There is alot of [city] bridges out there that don't look that good.
