Forks Bucket Forks Revisted

I finally got to use my new clamp-on bucket forks (Blueline Mfg), and boy am I happy with them. My main reason for getting them was to be able to pile more brush on the loader for hauling to the brush pile.

What I didn't realize is that I can cut down a pretty good pile, then get on the tractor and pick the whole thing up with the forks and haul it to the pile without ever getting off the tractor. I cut and piled up 3 or 4 times what I could do in the past yesterday. Used to be the easy part was cutting the limbs and the hard part was then dragging them to the brush pile or piling them onto the loader. Now the tractor can do so much more, so much easier.

The only problem I ran into was every now and then I would have to manually pull limbs that got stuck behind one of the short uprights on the forks during dumping. Some extensions on those would be helpful.

Maybe you could tie a length of 2x4 in front of those uprights and secure the top to your bucket top. Do you have any hooks welded up there you could tie them around?

I don't have any hooks on the bucket, but maybe I could clamp them on there or something. I had thought of getting some tubular steel that would slide down over the entire upright, and would come right off when done with it.

If you can slide something over the top like that you might want to consider some PVC. It'd be cheap, lightweight and easy to take on and off. You could even drill some holes through and glue some smaller diameter PVC through there for a better backstop for your brush.
