So the long arm one looks like you have to get close to the tree and swing into it (hard right turn) to then be able to close the jaws, as opposed to the others where you drive straight forward into the tree and close. Do I have that right?

Yes, right. Real easy with the 4 wheel steering on the V417.

Try to control spinning your tractor tires - every time you spin a tire you momentarily slip the tire on the bead seat - do this too many times and you are chasing an air leak - you will never find.

Not something I do intentionally or often.

Seems as though I have a ton of weed tree saplings that are too small for the chainsaw but large enough to yank out so I ordered the 'Brush grubber.. Anyone use one? Do they hold up? Gonna use it behind one of my M9's on the drawbar to yank them out. Got the 'heavy duty' model. Is it heavy duty enough for my 8K pound, 90 horse FWA Kubota or will I destroy it?

I tried it about 30 years ago and decided that getting it to a place that a mower will do the job keeps me happy.

I bent mine with a 50 Hp Mahindra 5035. But my Mahindra 5035 weighs 10,000+ lb with my attachments.

Best thing I have found in a drum mulcher. They make them to use with a PTO and a 3point hitch. I have access to this one so I go forward. CTL's with forestry heads are available to rent also. I put a set of carbide teeth on it and after the trees are down I can drop it about 2 inches below the dirt and take the roots.

I tried the BG a few years ago.
I was always fighting the clevis and the chain hook keeping it connected, so stopped using it.
I went back to my 14ft 3/8" chain that is hammer-loked into a circle.
I sling the chain around the base(twice on smaller stuff), pull it through the circle and pull.
It just seems to go faster when I'm by myself that way.

I had a heavy duty brush grubber that worked reasonably well. It is chinese cast steel and i managed to turn it into a pretzal pulling atoo large tree with my f350 in 4wd low. I doubt that model will hold up to a 90hp tractor

I sling the chain around the base(twice on smaller stuff), pull it through the circle and pull.
It just seems to go faster when I'm by myself that way.

When working by yourself, it gets old real quick having to get back off the tractor to reset what you are doing.
