Box Scraper Box Blade Oops!

Patching the tire is out, the ripper tooth caught and ripped the tire about 2' around, looks like somebody unzipped the darn thing. I think I have a picture of the tire on my other computer. If so I'll put it on here as a what not to do with your new toys
First thing after putting a new tire on is going to be check chains, got it!
Thanks for the replies.
Nolan

Dang! Is that all you have to do is replace the zipper? What isle of the store are the tire zippers in? LOL I can imagine that conversation at wal-mart.
Destroying a tire is my limit on self-inflicted stupid for this week, but seriously how much should I expect to pay for a new tire and tube (18.4 x 30)
Thanks
Nolan

Ag tires are expensive....

Looks like $626.00

Edit - oh, that's just the tire, tube is another $60 or so.

Search around the net for the tire there are a few bargains to be had, Although they are expensive also. I found two that were right for me on on line auction site. But for the rears I actually found them locally for less.
You could possibly make your own sway chains with some chain and a few bolts...

Check around. There is usually a tire shop that looks really dirty and decrepid but dozens of cars coming and going. They are the ones that take care of their customers and usually have a wide assortment of orphan used tires. I have gotten some real deals that way.

Case has a very good web site for exploded part drawings. Here is the link:

Your tractor does have a stabilizer, I found a picture of it on the web (image search for IH 784 and found this:

The case site shows details:

Mr Brown, Could you make your replies a little bit smaller, and use the most opaque color you can find. I am going blind here, and you aren't helping any.

THANKS

One thing to watch for is to have thread wear as close to the other as possible. a new tire against a half worn out one, will cause the old tire to slip in rough going.:(
