Seems like I have some turbo lag. Tuner should take care of that

Does your shifter show an 'S' mode? That will liven things up. But tuner or not, you have to spool up the turbines, and that takes time. There will always be lag until you get 'em spinning.

I towed a 8200# gooseneck horse trailer with a 2014 F150 crew with 3.5 ecoboost with no problems at all. You can expect about 16.5 MPG for all around mileage. On the highway, you can get 19-20 MPG, but you have to really work at it and stay at 65 MPH. Putting it on cruise control makes the mileage worse. Towing will be about 7- 9 MPG.

When I test drove a 3.5 ecoboost F150 it felt like the lag was in the 10 speed transmission. It holds too high a gear and is a bit slow to downshift to a useful gear. Turbos don't always have lag. It depends on how they are set up, size of the turbine etc. I've had turbo cars that had instant torque. I wanted to like the F150 because I do like turbos but my wife and I both liked the Tundra a bit better.

Keep in mind that most company's towing capacity numbers don't include driver, passenger or a full tank of fuel.

The new 8 or 10 speed transmission uses electronics in change gears. It will take 500-1000 miles before it will adjust to your driving style. Be patient.

The other thing to consider is using an overdrive gear substantially reduces engine braking which, with a load close to maximum rating, is essential

Yep, if the turbo is spinning when you nail it. But from idle, you have what the unboosted engine puts out, and I'll bet I could feel the lag. (Can feel it in my EB Flex, in a new Porsche Cayman, definitely in my brother's GN, etc.) It's better in newer vehicles than older, but it's there (unless you have electric motors for "torque fill".)

Goggle pedal commander.Installed one on my 2016 Ram 2500.No more gas pedal lag.

I do love my turbos and my tuners over the years. I am not going to go crazy just a little bump. So far truck is pretty sweet. Time will tell.

I recently bought a 2017 3.5 ecoboost, super crew, 6.5' bed. Will tow with it Monday when I haul my L3400 w/loader & rear blade. About 6K lbs. total. Should be a good test. BTW, my first 1000 miles I'm averaging just over 20 mpg in mixed highway/secondary roads. Very happy with that.

That sounds good. I traded in a little toyota tundra that only got 16-17 mpg so this is a big step up. I ended up leasing mine so in 3 years I am done with it.
