Any of you guys run biodiesel in your Yanmars? A buddy of mine gave me five gallons that he had no use for. My tractor starts and runs great on it, and the exhaust smells like a turkey being deep fried. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif I think I'm going to look for a local source for it and start using it.

I'm running biodiesel in all my farm tractors & truck. It adds a couple cents to a gallon, but it doesn't have to come from overseas & support terrorists.

I would think that by the nature of the folks here on this Yanmar forum - you'd be thinking of MAKING IT YOURSELF! I've been thinking about this for quite a while. All you need is some used vegetable oil, caustic (NaOH), and some methanol. Check out this web page.

I already have local sources for everything - but I use so little diesel fuel, that it takes for ever to use up that 5 gal container.

There was a great article in the Banks newsletter last month about Biodiesel. www.bankspower.com

If you are a diesel freak, thats the place to go for the tech talk. Very educational. Subscribe to the newsletter and enjoy!
