I have a chainsaw that leaks with the thin oil and would like a thick bar oil.
Any good ones out there?
Thanks

Fix the leak! :confused3: Thicker oil may not pump and you'll be replacing chains, bars and clutches. Choose which is easier for you.

Most bar oil is just like 600N right off the MEK or propane dewaxer. Heavier oil would be a bright stock. Like others said, it probably will not pump right.

Not sure where you get the bright stock type oil.

Yes - fix the leak. I make sure mine are pumping bar oil by running them on the porch of my cabin. Nice straight oil stain left on the dry deck boards.

I should buy good bar oil but wind up just getting the cheapest stuff I can find. You will get good advice from the guys that do a lot of posting on the "Tractors and Wood" thread. Many of them cut a lot of trees. I burn 7 cords a year and do very little tree felling. My Husqvarna Rancher saw leaks and just live with it. Now that I have an electric saw, I no longer keep it ready for action for those small jobs we all get if you own land. I only fire up the gas saw when I need to do a lot of cutting and then drain it.

What I consider the best I only used in racesaws. Slick as snot and used less HP to run IMO. But cost to much for regular use.

I just use Cam2 or TSC brand for everyday use. RK sells cam 2 brand for $5 a gal.

Not sure there is a fix. Dewalt 20v. Directions say drain it when done using. Its self draining:). Goes through a lot of oil when cutting with it.
Heard from several they are leakers. Just made that way. My Dewalt 60V doesnt leak.
