I really liked and had no problems with the JD 790. But now it seems that Sims is the only cab option for it. I couldn't bring myself to spring for $3100 on a cab with vinyl doors and no heater. It'll be nice to do snow removal without dressing like Nanook of the North.
Luckily, I was in a position to swing this Kubota deal with no payments. This tractor will last me forever with the relatively gentle use that it'll get at my place.

When I was pricing a Curtis for my B2400, by the time you added the heater, headliner to reduce vibration, two worklights, etc. I put me less than a grand away from Kubota's factory cab which was roomier, quieter, had A/C , and would have better resale value. My 2400 only had 180 hrs on it and sold very quickly...... it was a no-brainer for me.

Post us some pics when it shows up !

It'll probably be toward the end of the coming week by the time my funds arrive and the dealer gets the current front mount blower removed and the loader installed.
Will get a pic or two when I get it home and off the trailer.

My driveway is flat so no traction problem, but I was helping out a friend who was sick. When I first visited the building site a couple of years ago, I thought to myself, that driveway would be a ***** to take care of in the winter. He had a pretty steep driveway.

When I tried to blow up the drive early this winter season with one foot of fairly wet snow, I put my blower down and started up the drive, I couldn't do it. I just started slipping. I have rimguard in the rear tires. So I just drove up the drive with the blower as high as it would go and had no problem. I would say the grade was close to 20%. I then snow blowed down the hill.

We have another new neighbor (his first winter in his new house) who must have a 35% grade. It is almost scary to walk down his long drive. You almost have to run down it. I think he said he was going to hire someone to plow it. I have never been by his place when someone was working, but somehow he is getting the job done. Lately I notice that a Chrysler mini van is parked at the bottom of the hill. I guess they gave up driving up the hill.

You can my rig below in my driveway:

Thanks for the pics. Gives me something to look at until my B3030 HSDCC/LA403 shows up later this week!

Just poking around on Kubota's website looking into some minor details that I probably should have asked about earlier.
The tractor currently has mid mount PTO due to a front snow blower. The blower is being replaced by an LA403 loader before I pick it up. My impression from Kubota's website is that the MM PTO is standard equipment so I assume it will stay with the tractor.
Does the LA403 loader come with a grille guard standard?

The B3030 comes standard with a mid pto and the grill guard is standard with the loader. If you think that you may want to put any impliments on the front (plow, snowblower, broom) you might ask the dealer to leave the quick hitch installed on the tractor as they are hard to come by and worth about $1000.

Good idea, but I doubt the dealer will leave a $1000 option on there and call it good for our negotiated price. Anyway, I pretty much have all of the 3ph equipment that I need.
But you never know, maybe I'll be lucky and that quick hitch will still be there. :D
Thanks for the info.

Keep the front mount blower and make your life really perfect. It has cut my snow removal time way done and made it a pleasure. I had shoulder surgery in Dec. and if I didn't have the front blower I couldn't have maintained my driveway (see, it's a health issue justification).

You can mount up and use the loader with the quick hitch in place if you have to. Kubota doe's not recommend this and i agree, i never did it, but it can be done if you must?

You know JJZ, this isn't bad advice. Maybe they'd be willing to deal a little bit since its already on the tractor? I know you already have a rear blower........ bit it would sell no problem. You'd reeeeeeeeeeeeeeealy like the front blower!
