B3030

I originally thought you were just a constant complainer and regretted buying something you didn't understand and had very little interest in understanding.. You just wanted someone to tell you what you needed to do to repair your problems... Then after several posts you mixed a small amount of reasonable commentary in with your complaining. So I started a step by step checkout for your 4x4 front end, and what is likely leaving you with weak hydraulics. You can check my post history, I generally post pictures and information directly From the WSM's Along with Actual repair procedures. (Just like Many others on these forums)...
YOU need to go back to reading these forms like you claim you have for years. In the 9 posts you have made, you have only shown your true character. Are you Surprised there is not a flood of Help coming your way?
It is evident that You feel your time is too important (to you) to ever have tried to assist anyone else over the years... But you expect the rest of us that know these tractors inside out to 'earn our pay' and rush to Your aid, While you are bashing & insulting our fellow members... I do agree with ONE thing you have said, I don't think You are going to find much useful information here.... Next time You are looking for Free friendly advice, you might have Someone Else post your problems for you. KennyV

Well written, and sadly I think it tells the whole story.

You are the one that keeps posting looking for answers. So don't complain about posts that aren't the answers you want.

As for the 4x4. I explained it to you very simply. You claim to be knowledgeable about how a truck rear axle works. So I based my explanation of your tractor front driveline with that intellect in mind.

The fact that you can spin one tire and the other goes the opposite direction with no locking up or abnormal resistance should tell you that the ring/pinion hub assemblies are probably okay. Also the center section spider gears are probably okay.

Now the issue of the speed changing depending on which tire you turn can only mean one thing. The front driveshaft is able to turn freely. For whatever reason that's why you are seeing a difference in tire rotation. One direction the forces may be used to turn the opposite tire without turning the shaft. The other direction the shaft is absorbing part of the force and sowly rotating. Since you know how a truck rear axle works you should be able to understand this explanation.

The next thing I would test, with the front tires off the ground, is to wedge a block under one so it can't turn, then turn the other. Listen and feel for resistance from turning the various mechanisms. If you can turn either tire with the other blocked, and you hear feel no problems, again you've proven that the 4x4 is not engaged.

Next would be to turn both tires at the same time, the same direction. Again if you can do this with no problems, you've again proven that the 4x4 is not engaged.

At that point I wouldn't consider disassembly of the front end at all. Unless you just want to look at it for the educational value.

Now I would be looking at the lever, linkage, engagement process to make sure there's not something simple going on. I don't know how your tractor mechanism works for sure, but I think the lever is directly connected to a horizontal shaft coming out the side of the transzaxle. If that's correct, I'd engag/disengage while watching the lever on the shaft. Is the lever turning the shaft?? It's possibly a roll pin could be sheared there.

Once I've proven that's working correctly I have to assume the problem is inside the housing. At this point I'd want to see a detailed drawing of how it works. A parts diagram would probably tell you, if you can read such a diagram. That's for you to decide. If not, then a WSM would tell you with pictures and descriptions of assembly/disassembly of the housing. What I'm looking for a pin that could be sheared or a shifting fork that could be bent. The chances of this being a broken gear are extremely small. You've not mentioned an unusual noises or locking up or anything nasty like that.

Do these tests then post your findings and we'll go from there. Maybe someone on here has an electronic WSM that they can lend you??

Too late. He is gone to never return....... I doubt he would understand the information you gave him, and not because you were complicated. Have you ever met anyone who thinks they know it all, when everyone else knows they know next to nothing.....

I also have a B3030 and think you have a tractor that was badly abused then traded when things started going wrong. I have a rear counterweight that weighs about 900 lbs and the 3pt lifts that like it was a block of wood. The FEL will lift that same counterweight high enough to move it around but not enough to put it into the back of a pickup. 700lbs in the bucket should be easy enough. My tractor likes the glow plugs even when the weather is mild but will start at -20C (about 0 F for y'all) not plugged in. Maybe you have some glow plugs that have lost interest. No comment on the front wheel drive assembly beyond that it goes in easier if you are rolling so the gears match going in and you might have to reverse direction a couple of feet to take load off the gears to pull it out easily.
This is my third Kubota. I don't buy more of things I don't like.

I can agree 100% with the above statements.I suggest you take your tractor to a competent Kubota mechanic who can diagnose and repair it as it should be then be prepared to fall back in love with your B3030.

Just calling a spade a spade. You call can it whatever makes you happy. My Kubota is a pile of junk......Constantly needs repairs........... Fact Seems most people posting on here are home hobbyists that want to be cool by owning a tractor they have no real need having. Very few on this thread had any technical information at all.....Being able to drive a tractor doesn't make you a "Kubota Expert".....Fact Mennonites and Amish are known to be con-artists. My mistake for buying from one.......... Fact I'm done with this little club. Not much useful information here. All you guys care about is brand and model numbers and who's got a bigger pecker. Seems you guys don't have much of anything constructive to add.

Buh Bye! You are too cheap to take tractor to a dealer and want TBN members to bail you out for free. Then you want to bash an entire brand, TBN, the Amish, etc. after you didn't do your homework prior to buying a tractor with problems. If the Amish and Mennonites are, in your opinion, known to be con-artist (not my experience) why in the he$$ did you buy a tractor from one?

Good luck!

If the Amish and Mennonites are, in your opinion, known to be con-artist (not my experience) why ...... did you buy a tractor from one?

I don't think he is telling the whole story. He condemns himself with his own words. Often times liars will do the same thing.

Just ignore this guy gentlemen! He spends ALL his free time bashing kubota ALL OVER the internet, under various names! He does not realize coming to TBN and bashing kubota is like yelling i have a bomb on an airplane!
