I also have a B3030 and think you have a tractor that was badly abused then traded when things started going wrong. I have a rear counterweight that weighs about 900 lbs and the 3pt lifts that like it was a block of wood. The FEL will lift that same counterweight high enough to move it around but not enough to put it into the back of a pickup. 700lbs in the bucket should be easy enough. My tractor likes the glow plugs even when the weather is mild but will start at -20C (about 0 F for y'all) not plugged in. Maybe you have some glow plugs that have lost interest. No comment on the front wheel drive assembly beyond that it goes in easier if you are rolling so the gears match going in and you might have to reverse direction a couple of feet to take load off the gears to pull it out easily.
This is my third Kubota. I don't buy more of things I don't like.

In regards to the hydraulics, as mentioned above, check operating pressure. I think the pressure relief valve is weak. Worst case would the the pump is weak, but check relief first.

In regards to the 4x4. If you can overhaul a pickup drive axle, you can overhaul the Kubota front end. There's no rocket science here. The Kubota front drive system is simply made up of a spider geared center section that is 1 to 1 drive ratio and two outer wheel assemblies that are composed of ring/pinion gear assemblies. No mystery at all.

Before I started tearing gear cases apart though I'd run some tests to see what's turning when 4x4 is engaged. Access the front driveshaft, jack up the front tires and start turning things by hand. Observe what's happening and the differences of it being engaged in 4x4 and 2x4. You'll narrow down the problem real quick by doing that.

It's an assumption on our parts that you are mechanical and know how to diagnose equipment based on your self description of your experiences with various machines.

If our assumption is wrong, just say that. If our assumption is accurate, then display that knowledge and after properly analyzing everything if you are still stumped, report back with your procedures and findings. There are people in this conversation that can help you brainstorm thru this problem.

I'm only commenting on this thread because MJ said that his B3030 can't handle a rear snow blower. The blower on my B3030 worked fine last year when we got 30 inches of snow in one storm. In fact, it was a life saver!
As far as his mechanical troubles go, reason might be the fact that he has a crew operating it. Most people had yet to get a tool, tractor, or vehicle back as good as it was when it went out. Some times it isn't even from lack of caring or recklessness. I loaned my brother my chainsaw one time. He thought he would do me a flavor and get it sharpened by a professional shop before returning it to me. It was sharpened at the wrong angle and couldn't cut butter when I got the saw back.
Lesson learned: if you care about your equipment, don't let other people operate it!

True and I am reminded of the old saying, "you never get a second chance to make a first impression."

I am sure much more understanding and helpful posts would have been made if the OP was:

"I have a B3030 and need some help. The 4x4 doesn't work. When shifting, I can feel the gears shift in to each other. So I'm assuming the problem is after the transmission. Maybe a busted driveshaft, broken gear etc in the front end? I looked at an assembly diagram for the 4x4 system. It's over my head, lot of parts in there. Anyone know these tractors well enough to point me in the right direction?

I bought this tractor used and the rear tires with WATER. That's all well and good in warm climates, but the tires are frozen solid, literally. The thing has zero traction. I got it stuck in the grass today. Yes, stuck in the grass, not snow, not mud, but grass. So far problems encountered: Underpowered, poor performing hydro trans, weak loader, poor 4x4, hard to start, slow, underpowered 3 point lift ability. Comfy seat though."

I wish the OP were close by. I am excited about problems like these. Within 15 minutes I can diagnose where his 4x4 problem is. And depending on location, within a couple hours have it exposed.

As for the hydraulic problem, that could also be diagnosed within 30 minutes. The fix there might become more complex depending on the problem. But he's already said he understands hydraulics to that would be a piece of cake for him to fix.

I'm curious about thes problems and look forward to hearing answers concerning the fix.

I have a 60" Ecnor blower on my B3030HSDCC and it is a great set up. I think it handles the 60" blower better than my L3540HSDCC handles a 74" blower.

for those of you who actually gave me some decent info, I appreciate it. The rest of you can tune out now, thanks for wasting page after page of nonsense.

Haven't had a chance to diagnose the hydros yet. We got slammed with another snow storm. I did quickly check the 4x4 last time I had it out. picked the front end up. Tires were rotated by hand. When I spun the left tire, the right one spun opposite direction. When I spun the right tire, the left went in opposite direction, but at a noticeably slower speed. That's what's making me think the prob is in the front end, but that doesn't make a bit of sense to me. This is why I was hoping somebody could explain the front drive assembly on this thing. Do the gears need to be re-shimmed if they're pulled out on these or can they be disassembled and reassembled easily?

When I bought this from the Amish or Mennonite guy, whatever he was, I was hoping to possibly run a blower on it. But after seeing that it can't pick up a blade, there's no way it'll pick up a blower. This "dealer" is now out of business and nowhere to be found. Big surprise there. For those of you in CT, this is how those people operate, similar to gypsies. My mistake for dealing with him. Being in CT, I'm sure you have a large population of Amish and Mennonites so I bet you can relate.......

yeah there's a kubota dealer here in town but I don't like taking my stuff to a shop unless it's dire. We have a nicely equipped shop and do almost all of our repairs in house. I'm just leery about tearing into that front end. I'm in the process of working a deal to trade the 3030 in on a newer Bobcat tractor with 300 hours, that'd be ideal. This Kubota has been a hassle from the beginning. I'd certainly get more $ for it if it's working properly though.
