Attaching pto implements

I only have one PTO attachment but I have arthritis. $300 seems like a lot of money but I am very close to ordering a PTO Link.

I will buy their sling and see if that helps enough.

If there is a place on the frame where you can loop a small ratchet strap, you can use that as a sling to hold the shaft in the proper height to line up and attach the pto. Just don't forget to remove it when done.

A caution about removing PTO shields. Years ago a friend was feeding cows, roundbales on a 3pt carrier.. Hung the string on the tail light. Somehow a string got caught on the PTO shaft-unprotected and running for some unknown reason. Took his thumb off, could have been worse. It is the unexpected that will sneak up and grab you. I try to look at most of these aggravating safety things as a level of protection against both being stupid and the unexpected. (still alive with all 10 fingers at 70-and still amazed)

Honestly. Tractor supply offers a overrunning clutch for under $100. Why is everybody overlooking the simple answer?

Mine was bolted on and I removed it.

Think I'll have to do that too.

Since no one else will explain it, for those, like myself, who have no clue what an overriding clutch is and why you need it, this video explains it.

Sounds like its only needed for older tractors that have a clutch that when pushed in doesn't disengage the PTO, where having a rotary cutter can still be engaged and push the tractor forward.
Also the overriding clutch will extend the PTO shaft which may cause issue with extra length.
