Anyone ever put down a cork floor?

I have the 1x3 tiles in my home office and half bath--my toes are on it now.

I love it. It has been down about 2 years now, no problems.

Here are some pics of the cork floor, baseboard, and toekick. I put small clear plastic corner protectors on all outside corners of the baseboard/toekick, attached with clear caulk, but they blend in so well you can't see them in photos.

Is the cork flooring - snap together type - a good insulator? I'm thinking about using it for a concrete floor that's below grade.

Cork is an excellent insulator, both for heat and noise. It also is supposed to be very resistant to moisture and mold, but I think I would put a moisture barrier down first anyway. If you are putting it down as a floating floor, there is probably a recommended pad/moisture barrier to go under it.

Nice looking floors - like the way the trim turned out on the kick area and sides.

Also see you have a healthy and growing black cat enjoying dinner too.

We just built our house and used cork for the kitchen floor. Love it. Softer and warmer than tile or linoleum. Been in about 1 year. Glued in place and sealed.

Wow, great looking floors. How does the cost compare with tile?

Our cork floor cost about the same as linoleum (not vinyl) or like high end tile, but less than wood.

Cork floor is fantastic - very comfortable. We installed a floating cork floor about six years ago now and don't see any wear.

Isn't a cork floor...any floor for that matter...pretty low already? There's no need to disparage them for being cork and making them feel even worse!
