Most times a bridge is wanted on here, people suggest a flat-bed trailer or a flat bed RR car. A RR car is longer than 36' between axles, and the beams arent as heavy and they arent as wide as he wants.

I am acutally surprised no one has mentioned that yet.

Only issue that needs engineering IMO is the supports and the decking.

Two flatbed trailers side by side might still be an option....my bigger worry is the drop in height from the road to where the near side of the bridge would be. I don't want there to be too steep of an incline (on in this case, a decline???) in that 75-ish foot span. I'd definitely be better with 33 inches of beam plus another 8-10 inches of some decking material than I would be with a flatbed raised only a few inches above the grade on the supports. I meant to get out there with the transit but got preoccupied with other stuff this weekend.

At any rate, I'm scheduled to meet with an engineer on Thursday -- I'll pop back in and let everyone know what they say.

What was the verdict?

No verdict yet -- the engineering company bridge rep got called out of the office and we're still trying to reschedule the appointment. I'm also making calls to a few other engineering firms to talk about options.
