Amazon shipping gone wild - more!

We're back in town and I ordered a bunch of stuff but 'Arrive on Amazon Day' where you group deliveries to a single day, doesn't show for some reason. After payment I saw we'll get a delivery every day for 5 days.

Today's arrival was a Swing-A-Way hand can opener, the type like pliers. Heavily wrapped in bubble wrap then a padded envelope. WTH? These can't be damaged in shipping!

Tomorrow, a bottle of eyeglasses cleaner. Sunday, a brass 1/4" air fitting. Monday, a little kid's captive-style swing seat.

We don't need any of this immediately! I would have checked the usual 'Deliver Everything Next Tuesday' if that had showed.

I ordered a gift for my wife and after I ordered it the delivery date switched to after Christmas. (Her BD is tomorrow, so I have to do double shopping.)

So, I ordered a similar item (different color) so she would get to open it and then the right one would arrive a few days later. Flash forward...the backup arrived a few days ago. They updated the right one to arrive the 22nd. So, it will all work out.

Even out here, some items have arrived in 2 days. Most get delivered by USPS.

Nobody is forcing you to buy from Amazon. Get in your truck & drive to a store, shop, farm supply, or take a boat to China. Around here, parts for my John Deere stuff are usually cheaper at my 3 local JD dealers than from Amazon. We employ Jack Reacher techniques. Around here, Amazon drivers are likely to be our neighbors.

Reacher is great - but the books are greater than the tv show.

I'm not paying $15/mo for prime to watch it, but the first 3 episodes of the first season were available on Freevee (Amazon's ad-supported streaming channel). I thought it was pretty faithful to the book. Did think it was a little sleazy that they didn't offer the whole season there, even if for a limited time.

Freevee has 2 seasons of Bosch. It’s a great series. Comes pretty close to how good the books are to read.
