Case in point, just 5 minutes ago, so I edited this post.

I 'spose I should be thankful it wasn't raining as it would be put in the same place. Last time it was one of those brown paper shipping envelopes that was propped against my door right below the sign where it sat all day and was a soggy mess.

To the people having a problem getting stuff delivered to the wrong address....do you have good signage showing addresses at the road? The townships around here have installed new signs recently so it makes it easy which address you are at. Sure, it costs money, but it sure solves the problem.

Yes, I have my address on a post next to my driveway. They're visible from both directions. I also have a back lighted number sign at the top. At least it used to be lighted. Solar panels don't do well in South Texas. But the numbers are still visible from the road during the day. And that post is directly across the road from my HUGE mailbox also numbered.

My regular UPS driver usually has 140 stops. Regular Amazon drivers get 200 plus daily. Amazon will be adding entry level delivery people to handle the uptick of holiday business.

If they can actually read that is. Sometimes I think that is doubtful. Kind of reminds me of big truck drivers today. Electronic logs were a godsend for them as many of them cannot read or write in English anyway and log books as well as pre trip inspection forms aren't printed in Arabic far as I know but the can enter their data in an electronic log book and maybe they translate the Arabic to English, not sure however.

Lets just say that today, 'professional' big truck drivers competence has digressed to new lows.

Was not the case when I drove big trucks but today it is.

When I was a young carpenter I was challenged to learn roof rafter cutting calculating and cutting from a large metal roofing square.
It was about 10 yrs later when a rafter and conc volume calculator became available. Things got easier. Todays men aren't half the men we were. lol

Just a story on shipping:

- I needed a new tv. Best Buy had what I wanted. Website said “pick up in one hour or free delivery tomorrow”. The Best Buy store is 3 miles away.

- but, I had stuff to do so I chose free delivery the next day.

- next day I get email from Best Buy saying “sorry, there is a delay in your shipment”.

- next day I get email from Best Buy saying “Great news, your item has been shipped”. I look at details and see it was shipped from Pasadena, California. I live near Tampa, Florida. Huh?

- arrived 4 days later via FedEx.

Very efficient.

I'm gonna say negative on that. I initially also had a sign on the post at the bottom of the step. The package ended up by my front door which is...oddyly...to the right of the door with the sign.

......many of them cannot read or write in English anyway .....
