I had to laugh when I saw this ad in the local big city newpaper.

Bill you have to be talking about the Dallas Morning News.

I don't believe their classifieds has ever had the word "winch". But four to six times a month you will see "wench" to describe that thing with a cable for pulling.

When I read your post to my wife this morning she bust out laughing and said that it had to be our paper. She's used to my ranting about their spelling when I cruise for tools or vehicles in the classifieds.
