After almost two years of use, one of the hoses finally popped on my 72" wide Wicked Root Grapple picking up a heavy, beaver-cut green-poplar tree.

I am appreciative and thankful that a 3/8" 60" long NPT hose from my local fleet store was able to sort out the problem. I would not be able to get replacement parts without a Parker hydraulics jobber for the pivots and so I'm wondering if I should get some spares?

Also, while chaining up my tractor to haul it off to the dealer to plug into their laptop to find out what the CEL flag is for (which is preventing DPF regeneration cycles :thumb down: ), I noticed that the same green tree also bent the righthand tine when the grapple hose popped.

The hose failure was spectacular. Instantly the air was misty with hydro fluid.

Tough grapple.

Eric, just curious what the reaction to the rest of the tractors hydrolicis was? How much fluid did you loose?

I have to wonder if Ted, Peanut, Travis and the team purposely designed my 60" Single lid to work PERFECTLY with a Mahindra 2538 Bucket and Boxblade? Check this awesome coincidence out...

I usually load the box blade in trailer, and then go back and grab the bucket, two trips and an extra 5-10 mins. But unloading this week I was tired and lazy and thought - why not? Pulled forward on the trailer a bit with lid open, closed it and backed up. Had a bite and put some tension on it. Airborne! Hopped off and was very pleased at the three point attachment and locked grip. Check out the pics for a two implement catch.

All implements in one fell swoop.

Note where the clevis brackets rest perfectly on the lip of the bucket which is itself inside the grapple. (You can also see the top of box blade frame locked into grapple nostrils in lid)

Better view of how it all first perfectly like a puzzle - the cutouts in the lid make this a solid attachment when lid is closed to apply pressure.

Tried to shake it loose a bit to see if this was a good idea or not, and there were no problems. I'd say this is a fine way to move the whole kit around when needed!

No effect on the rest of the hydros as the hose that popped can be completely isolated from the rest of the hydraulic system. I simply disconnected the grapple hydros and got back to brush-cutting.

Spectacular destruction and all we get are some after shots. Eric, are you losing your touch? :laughing:

I can't say the boxblade was in mind, but we surely purposely designed it to work PERFECTLY with a Mahindra 2538 and many other compact tractors!
