One of the first things I was able to do with my 425 was to assist in an Boy Scout Eagle project moving mulch and stone for the boys to place and spread. One of the other dads had a JD 855 there. All the boys thought the PT was cool. After the tractors had worked side by side for a couple hours, JD dad commented, "that sure does move quick". And indeed I had made many more trips to the pile than he. I noted that we could each carry similar loads, but the PT was far more maneuverable. The only thing the JD was more capable at was his ability to get better traction, which with his larger weight is no surprise.

I really enjoyed the project /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Cool! Every machine design has it's place. The PT425 is quick and nimble beyond compare, but the traditional tractors are traction monsters. I pulled a small stump last night with the PT425 and turf tires. Let's just say it took a few more tugs than a conventional tractor would have needed and leave it at that. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

For general landscaping and yard work the PT wins hands down.
