Hello,
I have a 2004 Eicher 485 tractor. I have a problem with the hand throttle lever returning to idle and not holding a constant throttle position. When this tractor was new the throttle lever would easily hold its position as the tention was pretty heavy. I cannot find any means of adjusting the linkage in way that would increase the tension. This make bushhogging a pain because you have to physically hold the throttle lever to keep constant RPMs where you want, I've since added a spring to hold the throttle plate on the carb open at about 1600rpms which works well for easy mowing. The problem is that I have to get off the tractor and remove the spring for the tractor to return to idle...a bit of a pain.
I'm hoping someone on this board has had some experience with this type of tractor and knows the method to increase the tention on the throttle. These tractors are not common, its a 3cyl air cooled diesel...made in India and sold through local Tennessee Farmer's Co-ops. I don't believe they still carry this model but parts are still available through the local Co-op.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Andy
