I think next tractor will be a yanmar yt359c. They have a 10yr 3000hr powertrain warranty, that's saying something about there product!

I'll bet money that warranty does not include an axle seal.

The axles should be covered under the powertrain warranty and in order to replace the axles, the seals need to be replaced. It should all be covered under powertrain.

Did the dealer state whether or not the axles were covered under the powertrain warranty. If you bought the tractor new, you should have a copy of the warranty. Check it see what is and what is not covered. Also be aware that the dealer does not make the ultimate call about warranty coverage. That is up to the manufacturer's rep.

IDK about this tractor but replacing axle seals can be very tedious because of the bearings not being preloaded correctly. In fact either too much grease, blocked vent or worn out bearing will cause the axles to leak inside the rims.
I'm curious to know about the "grooves" in the axles. Sounds like it wasn't put together correctly. Deere should get you another tractor. You are looking at a lot of expensive parts. Parts that shouldn't be leaking like that.

I would have thought, any such cavity has vents to allow for pressure changes. That makes not a lick of sense.

I agree...pretty sure there's a vent...but it might be plugged. However, in this case, that's something the dealer should have checked

So tractor came back yesterday all new axle shafts, bearings and seals all got covered under warranty. Also deere gave 250 towards any deere parts or service in future.

Happy everything worked out to your satisfaction on the tractor. Still don't know why it took 5 months to get that axle tool delivered to your dealer. Hope it was not an indication of widespread axle repairs ongoing across the country on JD tractors. That would be ominous for JD owners.
