I walked out to the Tractor this AM, was going to hook up the Grader/Planer and run over the road.
As I approached the tractor I noticed I must have forgotten to lower the 3-Point last night, no biggy, I push the lever to lower it, without the engine running and nothing happened. The Brush Cutter didn't go down ?!?!?!? Puzzeled !

I started the tractor, but nothing changed; before I start tearing apart my Max28, is there anything I should know, a safety Valve maybe, a lever I didn't know about... hoping for something little.

Thanks for any assist !

Did you put Viagra in the fuel last night?

On a serious note: Did you try to raise then lower (engine running)?

Did you check the drop rate valve? usually in front of the seat...?

Oh, and I forgot to mention: the WHY? did the valve get turned in the first place? You accidently turned it with your foot getting on or off of the tractor.

I put some Viagra in the fuel tank, hoping to get the little Tractor to have little more push... that didn't help !
Yes raising and lowering the lever was the first reaction. Engine running and not running.

I tried to move the valve but to tell the truth not sure if the tractor was running or not. I will attempt again today.

I know this link is for a Kubota, but this might be the issue as pointed out in previous post

The most MISUNDERSTOOD control on a tractor - TMT - YouTube

I watched the Video, I will try again this AM.

I got one caught in my throat and had a stiff neck all day... LoL !
Also, is your Handle (K0UA) a Ham call sign... ?

Thanks for all of the suggestions,I need to get it working today, got to get the Grader/Planer going !

It is almost scary how many of "us" are on here. Way more than the distribution in the general population. There was a thread calling us "out" a few years ago. Most of "us" don't use our callsigns as users handle's but there are a bunch in the woodwork and undercover. I really don't know why, but there must be something about tractors and forums that attract us.

Grease the zerk fitting one the arm on the 3point hitch. It happens to me at times to even without viagra!! Sometimes what I need to do is raise and lower the loader and then the back should go down. Definitely grease the zerks in back. Grease all your zerks every 10 hrs or so. Hope it helps. Please let me know how it works out.

A similar thing happened to my ancient Kubota B7200. I moved the wood splitter up from the barn lower level to work up some fuel wood one day, then the next day, while moving the splitter to clear away the pile, the 3pth stuck UP!

I dicked around with the control doodads for about 10 minutes and then pulled the lift cylinder housing.

Sure enough, corrosion (rust) in the cylinder had jammed the lift piston solid on full travel . I had used a five foot pinch bar to try and lever the lift arms down to no good effect.

It took the 20 ton shop press to drive the piston back and out. A cleanup of the bore with a cylinder hone, along with a generous slather of grease on reassembly, has everything working better than I have known it too. The entire R&R took about 2 hours.

I got the tractor as a pig in a poke, so no gripes on my part.

QSL. 73 James K0UA. I have personal experience with Squash bugs from years ago. Nasty buggers.

I took the seat off and a couple of body panel just to find out the valve was stuck, stopped from moving beyond a certain point in its circular travel.
The rotation was stopped by what I am thinking was a piece of dirt, not sure, but once I notice no damage to the valve, shaft, or knob, I applied some oil to the shaft, sound it closed and then with a little more pressure on the knob, at least a little more than I did before, and it moved beyond the point it was stuck on. Guessing it needed that oil !

Working now, also headed to the barn for a full oil change.

I meant to come back to this thread to post the findings but forgot, what's new !

Thanks for asking !
