Farmall Model A
Hello. We recently got this SAME Tiger 100, we got it running after it's been sitting for a while. Now that it's running the 3 point is stuck up. There's a whining noise coming from the housing. It seems like its just trying to go up. Eventually its gets warm enough and the oil just boils over the fill cap. Moving the levers doesn't change anything (although I can't seem to figure out which one moves the 3 point.) We're stumped on this and can't seem to figure it out, we aren't used to SAME tractors so any advice helps. Thanks

Page numbers are at the bottom of each of the six pages shown. You'd need to trace the cables down from the control lever.

Does it have a lever attached to the steering column like this one?

Potzione is supposed to set the hitch height, the numbers 1 to 12 is the draft control.

If it's like mine (and it probably is) then there are 2 push / pull linkage rods that go back to the 3-point control box.

However, from what you describe, there is a malfunction in the valves.
You say it whines and then starts to bubble?

Other possibility that comes to mind is air being sucked into the hydro pump.
That looks like an 80's tractor, so there are probably 40 year old rubber hoses on it.

You're going to need to get in there and look around.
You could disconnect the hydraulic pressure line and run the oil into a bucket as you start the engine for a minute.

Have you replaced the filters? That could be a start.

ok, rods or electrics then. Surely it's not electrically controlled is it? I'm just trying to suggest a process of elimination. If the hand slider works, is what it's connected to working at both ends. If it is, then there's a problem with what ever control system it has at the hydraulic end. Looks like a basic, old school tractor so I assumed cables but ....
