You could do as much as you can easily do on your own schedule, then hire a contractor with a bulldozer to do the really difficult stuff for about $2,500.

An excavator would be nice, but more $$$ and maintenance than I would care to do. I think your plan of following the path of least resistance and a 50-60hp tractor with a backhoe is doable, and positions you well for the future.

I have two jump starters like this in our cars. At first I was skeptical, but they outperform my older, more expensive more bulky, and less powerful jump starter. It starts my vehicles and tractor just fine.

My current battery charger has a 75 amp starter mode, and that generally works.

When I was a teenager, a friends car needed a jump, but all any of us had were cheap jumper cables. connected a set, and no bueno. Connected two sets, and success!

There are lots of variables to the work they want done. I would bid a job and do a job. Then bid another job and do another job. Start with the ones you are most comfortable with first. Tat way, you won't get too far over your skis.

This pic shows the two cam over type clips that hold the air filter cover on. Kind of hard to see with the hood flipped up but kind of blocking vision. Easy to remove, but the clips kept falling off when trying to put back on. Finally got it.

If you take the battery in, they can match it up. if you measure the battery tray and height, you may be able to get a bigger one.

Yep. Never bent anything. You don't think that push tube should be able to lift the blade without bending? Seems under engineered to me.

We had a John Deere 25 or 30 pull type combine. it wasn't very big and did a good job. All I remember doing for maintenance was greasing and replacing the occasional mower section. I don't think there would be much for maintenance other than (standard) belts or bearings.

Nope. You might get lucky, but I think it's more likely that you end up with a real nice tractor with more hours (3,000 or more). In my opinion, larger horsepower tractors don't have high hours until after 7,000 (4,000 for a CUT). I hope you find one with less than 500 hours in your price...
