surprised at 128 bucks to install ("scan needed to complete procedure")
...
cars today have so many electronics some of which probably don't like getting disconnected from power
but wonder what a scan tool has to do with anything. Clearing a code?
The mechanic could have easily attached a jump pack to the battery leads before disconnecting the battery to avoid disturbing the electronics. There's either another reason for hooking up the scanner, or you're due a refund for their oversight.
Newer cars require this
"When you don’t register, the car’s computer will not synch or reset to the new battery. In other words, it won’t “recognize” the new battery installed and still “think” the older battery is in use. That could set the vehicle into limp mode—which causes parts of the car to switch off and reduces the car's speed. It can also shut down electrical systems or prevent them from starting until registration is complete."
Wow! That right there absolutely pegged the BS meter.
if I want to do my own taxes this year and efile, is there any other more desirable
choice than Turbotax?
I read somewhere that the IRS was rolling out a new online tax preparation package. Not sure if it'll be out in time for the next tax season, though.
65°F and no rain
Very good day mowing yesterday. With the help of Sophie’s BX got that area done major expansion of the perimeter area. BUT. Managed to break and lose another stabilizer.

This one actually broke right at the mounting bolt to lift arm. Never had that happen before. This was a new, never used part. Now I have 2 female ends needing to be found.
Had the same ones on the
L3240, and mangled them several times while pushing with the back blade. By the time I got rid of that tractor, they had more weld metel in them than original steel. The
M62 uses very large turnbuckles instead, and I have yet to bend one in spite of my best efforts.
After another day working with a new web development tool, I have a pretty good handle on how it works, but am doubtful I can programmatically migrate the original website into it. And with more than a hundred pages, I don't have the time to do cut'n'paste. I'll play around with it a bit more, but it's not looking good at this point.
Had two people express interest on the swing set yesterday, one of them dropping by to see it. They expressed a strong interest, but didn't leave a deposit, and I haven't heard back from them yet this morning, in spite of texting them for an answer. So it's on to the other buyer. Fingers crossed.
Hang in there, gang, Friday's comin'.
