LOL They have been asking me every year for the past six years if I’m going to retire, and each time I say “no”. Lately they have been starting to offer me a fair amount of cash to retire, but I still say no.

The running gag amongst my family and friends is “I am going out feet first!”

Meanwhile, I have now reached the ripe old age of 71 whereby the Canadian government requires me to either take my monthly pension or take a lump sum equaling all of my contributions, plus the employer contributions, plus the pension fund investment gains, for the last 40 years. The lump sum is my choice, but I still don’t have to retire since they did away with mandatory retirement here in Ontario quite some time ago.

We have had guys here still working at age 82. I plan on working here until at least 90.
It is the positive outlook that people have been telling me I need to have. I love working here.

Looks like good dose of rain coming Thursday but chilly high in low 40s

Coffee has finished brewing. 37° with cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 48° with mostly sunny skies. Got JD mower ready for winter storage and spring mowing. Couple of parts needed replacing. Parts on order. Started working on tractor mower. Neighbor called and asked if I wanted to go to Rural King with him. Was glad to get away from equipment maintainace. Back to working on Kubota mower equipment today.
Friday evening we should see November Full Moon. Around 5pm and later.

Good morning, the low is 30 and going to a high of 36°F. Wind NNW 11 gusting to 17 mph. Mostly cloudy.

It snowed last night. Only 1/4" on the deck/front porch. None on the driveway. I wondered why my knee was giving me lots of grief last night, now I know.

Today is an energy conservation day.

a warm 50 out now, only going up to 53 today in sunshine, colder weather coming in,
hard freeze tonight at 29 degrees. Have to remember to put insulation on top of my fig plant.
I had a fig yesterday, small but good. Whole plant will go inside garage soon and sit by the window there for winter.

52 this morning going to sunny and 70.
Nice day yesterday after the clouds burnt off.
Not too much of a day. 9k steps. I have replaced one of the "walks" with the 4 wheeler but he doesn't like it as much. He's gonna like it less when Winter rears it's ugly head.
Got some tractor time in maintaining some of our trails. It's pretty wet back there so I couldn't do a lot with out making a mess. I have a couple of quite unlevel spots I am leveling out along with trying to steer some springs to drain with least wash. Water has a mind of it's own but can be persuaded to go where I want by adding a path of least resistance. That's the theory anyways.
Shuffled the 4 wheelers in to bay 2 so I can put my rail buggy in bay on and take a crack at getting it running. Replacing all the electric in it. We'll see how that goes. It's powered by a moped engine and it is fun when running but it's been sitting for a couple of years. New challenge!
